I have never heard 311's version. Is it considerably different?

Ah! Well, IMO that could be a lot worse, actually.
It is like they just slightly Hawaiianed/Reggaed the rhythm up so that folks at the bar could drunkdance to it easier.
I thought it was going to be all weakified and happy sounding.
The Cure version is obviously much better(for my generally depressive tastes no doubt! ), but this one could be a LOT worse, particularly considering some of the other audio horrors that 311 has committed.

oh yes, it's now awful, but it's not the Cure. I have like quite a few versions of cover of that song. My fav was Snake River Conspiracy's version. I will see if I can find it,

That is actually pretty awesome. It is like the Cure, by way of Ed Rush.

That snake river conspiracy version is pretty win. So does their other music follow a similar style?

They were quite gothy, yes. They did a tour opening for Bile and I went to see them in Manhattan. This show would have been a great one for Mr O'Caster and Garda. 'Twas at the Limelight one of my favorite clubs to see such an act.

Ha! When i lived in NYC i worked about four doors down from that place. In the modern era, i do not thing that they do shows there anymore? Still looks exactly the same though. Slightly "wrong" church, blacked out windows and whatnot.

No I think the last show I saw there was 2003 or 2004 something like that. Awesome place when it was happening though

That sounds like a really wonderful venue.
Ani Difranco owns an old church on my street, two blocks from my house. There are shows (and an art gallery) there, mostly trad-jazz stuff from what I've seen? She is performing there next month, and the ticket prices are more reasonable than last time. I should go.

As I remember the Middle was very open and we would stand on the balcony/catwalk thing that went all the way around. Of course the usual grinding dancing slamming on the dancefloor on the main floor.

There was (maybe still is) a place in Denver that was setup the same way.. church etc. Matter of fact it's Bile in the scene that was shot in the place in Denver in this clip. I was in Denver at the time when Krz was there but I didn't attend the shooting of this for some reason or other..
