The production on the album is nearly untouched, honestly.

HOWEVER, my #1 for 2010 is probably New Junk Aesthetic.

New Junk Aesthetic is 2009 according to wikipedia :red:

btw I seem to remember something about the black keys colabborating with some rap/hip hop guys to make a hip hop album. Did I imagine this or did it happen?

SCHWAT?!
No fuckin' way...

Newer Tera Melos rekkid:

Lots of vocals. Kind of interesting . Bit like Battles in vibe, bit more rawk than that though. Not quite as wild as the Maps And Atlases sorts of vocally stuff, more straight forward, i think.

I dig it so far. :isay:

I dare say it's a superior mix to the version that was left at my old singer's house and mysteriously never returned. Also: B-sides!

It got a little weirder as it went along, a little more like some of the older Tera Melos stuff. But with vocals. I have to listen to it more, but it is definitely an interesting angle for them.

I haven't listened to this in a longass time. It is still good.

 the vocal bridge c. 2:07 and the super processed synthy guitar:

Sweet clavinet and funky bass:

Realizing that it did not make much logical sense that i had not yet heard any particularly good records for 2010, i have been looking about for ones i might have missed.

Continuing in this vein, i am currently hearing this one:

It is cool. Noisy guitars, strangely incorporated vocal harmonies.

Like. Velvet Underground + My Bloody Valentine + early Sonic Youth + totally random Beach Boys.

I am enjoying it a fair bit. :idk:

Eh kinda. The tone resembles eachother but Curtis has his own style, in a way.

They were a good band.

There's some other stuff from that record I wish I could find on YouToob but was unable; it is pretty thoroughly good. And the production is quite slick, especially for an indie label record from the late '90s. With significantly more live instrumentation than one would expect.

Daft Punk - Tron Legacy OST. Very disappointing, I thought it would be way more fun than this but it's pretty much a standard orchestral soundtrack apart from the end credits track.

That is actually kind of what i was expecting. At first glance it seemed like it would be potentially cool and strange like the original Wendy Carlos score, but as moar info about the movie surfaced, it started to look like the daft punk element would be a bit more dull than it could have been. I am not honestly their biggest fan anyhow, but for sure, the soundtrack would have been in much better hands if they had handed it off to someone like, actually good.

Think of how sweet it would have been with say, Aphex Twin, or Squarepusher, making the sounds.
