Post My Canadian brethren...
Approx what months in the year does it start getting cold/wet/wintry in Vancouver and that area of BC? I ask as all being well I should have a Canadian working visa as of around March, but I need to leave enough time to save some money to tide me over til I get a job over there - just wondering when the latest I should get there is before it becomes snowboarding season? Any reason I should consider another city or province? BC has awesome mountain biking and that sort of thing, hence why I want to go there. I could google this but that means trawling through miles of search results.

Anyone here actually live in that area? :red:

That's the plan :D I watched NWD 10 yesterday, the Invermere section looks soo awesome. Gonna try and get a job in a bike shop/trail guide thing in Whistler until I can be bothered to try and get a "proper" job in the field I want to pursue :red:

cold starts usually in October. Snow... its unpredictable due to the ocean effect. But when it snows, it really snows.

Excellent :isay: So if I came say around August time I should be able to get at least a few weeks worth of good mountain biking action before the cold and wet sets in?

Rain is common place in the BC, at least when you're on the ocean side of them mountains (Vancouver etc). But it is very temperate there.

so... many... numbers.. *head asplodes*

The average temps seem good. I don't like it too hot like it was in 'murrica, especially NY.

Post Re: My Canadian brethren...
yeah i had to go through much more numbers for a course last semester. Needed 70 years of monthly climate data for montreal QC and burlington VT. After entering and graphing them, i noticed they were looking strange due to amurricans measuring temperature in Fahrenheit and precipitation in inches. So i made a conversion formula for the numbers and regraphed it. Took me like an hour.
Funny part of the story, it was a group project, there was another girl who did the same thing, but since she was a retard and didnt know how to use graphing software, it took her 14 hours, because she manually copied and pasted each value into their own cells instead of copying the whole chunk and using the program to seperate them into cells. And then she gave me shit for slacking off. "Uh no, i'm just smarter than you ;)".

I hate our 'Murican system of measurements.

We really need to go metric these days.
