Interview went well, I feel. Overprepared though, they only asked about 3 questions

Anyhow, mine went very well as well. I was very paranoid as the place is a slightly bigger deal than anywhere I've worked for in the past. Turns out I'm actually a fair bit overqualified for the position- and overqualified is a plus in that field; I know the things the college kids are no longer taught and have practical experience outside of strictly prepress. I'll know Wednesday. I was the last one interviewed, so hopefully I'll be first in their mind. The whole thing was geektalk, and I can do that all day long, one old hand to another, as it were.

Excellent, sounds like you have that one in the bag I should also hear by Wednesday - our fates are beautifully intertwined.

Luckily I didn't have to say much, just what I did at uni, what I've been doing since uni and how versatile I am They want someone who is good at audio things as well as video so I think they liked that I'm into my music shitz. So it's just whether they like me as a person which may prove to be a problem

I don't see how anyone could not like el-todgo as a person.

the problem is I'm a bit quiet when I first meet people which doesn't work well for interviews.

Garrr. Fucking interviews. I am not looking forward to having to do interviews. I do not interview well. Generally i find it too difficult to pretend like i actually want to to the job on offer.

Probably has something to do with the fact that i am generally destined to be doing interviews for Expendable Henchman sorts of employment, rather than Planet Destroying Laser Technician sorts of things, but even still.

An additional part of my problem is that i cannot shut off brutal honesty about my own weak points. I need to learn to mask that shit with some sort of awesomeness facade, like i had when i was a young'n.

And i need to figure it out ASAP, as the employment need pressure is ramping up at the moment from a couple fronts.

I need some fucking clue as to what i want to do though. The ones ramping up the pressure have only pretty terrible ideas.

Shit sucks, and i am fucking doomed.

The problem is I do really want to do the jobs as it's something I'm interested in, it's just hard to get that across The brutal honesty thing is an issue for me as well.

Brutal honesty can actually be a plus, or so I've been told by friends of mine who are management types. (Rather that than a bullshitter, for one) Depends on how you spin it and in what context. Admittedly they're technical types versus corporate empty suits, and the sort of people who would associate with me in private knowing full well I'm, er... me, but seeing as we're generally a techy lot here something worth keeping in mind. I'll gladly tell whomever will listen how much the work I do kicks ass for what it is, so that is, I suppose, a plus as I can back it up. Go to the American Museum Of Natural History and look at the Hall Of Ocean Life and tell me you don't believe me. (If the backlits are still up.) I didn't design that shit, but I did proof it and make the prints, which were a bitchandahalf because the tech for my machine sucked donkey balls. But I digress.

Turns out it was surprisingly good Expensive drinks though, I've spent about £50 including a taxi home

So when I was on my way home today I was taking the subway. Subway was running a little late, and when I was about 4 stops from Times Square they stopped all the trains and wouldn't go any further because of a police investigation. Had to walk around the city and take some alternate modes of travel to get home. Took me about 4 hours total from leaving my dorm until I got home.

Found out that there was a stabbing in the subway of Times Square. If I was less lazy and had decided to try to make an earlier bus to get home, I might have been there to see it go down.

just started overclocking my pc today.

Failed the first clock (or maybe i panicked before it booted, i dunno).
Sooooooooo i went back and just turned on XMP (automatic overclocking for i7's and compatible memory). So now my memory is overclocked, but my cpu isnt. Hrm. Temperatures went up 1 degree in the computer though. Bery interesting. Ill probably hvae another go at it tomororw.

Having spent most of the weekend largely comatose for want of anything better to do, I'm still waking up several hours after waking up.
