Don't like the drums at all. Everything else sounded pretty cool, but you need something to stand out. Needs an epic medieval solo over top.

Definitely needs new drums/ a melody or some other dealie that brings the whole shiz together.
It sounds like it has potential, but if you leave it as is it will just sound like elevator music on loop in a fish tank.

whats wrong with the drums? FUUU spent so much time programming them too, programming is a bitch indeed. Anyone wanna help me out with how to program better drums (for this song in particular?)

ANd i would record guitar, but no interface yet. also, not close to done yet, still need to add way more.

You obviously put a lot of work into them. But the thing is it sounds like a damned heavy metal drum kit... it really doesn't suit the context. I did a similar thing when I was a little younger... I used a program called Algorhythm to do my drumtracks. And I used samples of real drums, and made drumtracks so detailed I had to make a single song with three different projects in the program because it would crash after 80 patterns. But it still didn't sound right, I was still polishing a turd and it was painfully obvious.

It sounded pretty much like this: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default ... ID=4595582

We both put a lot of work into these drumtracks, but the fact is we just weren't working with the best materials anyway. We got damned good at programming things with these programs, but we'd still need to use other sounds to actually do something that didn't sound amateur. If that same effort we put into making those programs our bitch into obtaining more suitable sounds to start with the end product would be much better.

So... what can you do? Get a different drum sample library? Maybe. Program drums that sound good within the context of the sounds available in the one you are using? That's also a great idea. Or maybe you could program beats that don't sound like an imitation of a human drummer... because it isn't one, obviously.

You need a bit of something more in there, but it is real good. I'll concur about the drums. and I can hear you spent a lot of time on them. Great effort man, sounds real good.

Maybe I just need to tweak the kit some more. It's odd that it sounds metal, but i agree. It was actually the Steven Slate Classic Pop kit. WHich kit would be best for this song? I have EX and all expansions.
All else fails, I'll buy S2.0 and some SDX's by the end of the year. Thanks for the help man.
