I'm the same way. I say "excuse me" to inanimate objects on a fairly regular basis without even thinking about it. I try and be nice to things hoping they'll be nice back, which is a reason I hated tampering with my computer this weekend- I always manage to do some sort of damage to the thing trying to fix it and I wind up feeling like a Civil War surgeon.

Cats are generally "[Color]" + "Cat". Same with birds, snakes, etc. Only the last name used for short. (Which is admittedly a bit frat house for me when analyzed thus, but that isn't really how it goes down.)

All dogs are either "Wuffles" or "Fang". Depending largely (and inversely WRT the names used) on their actual size and/or level of viciousness/potential viciousness.

I intend to. If nothing else, it could be made into an interesting noisemaker.

Re: the SSL, if I'm remembering correctly, place that had it was bought for the real estate (NYC?) and gutted by the new owners. They put the console out by the dumpster, guy saw it, knew what it was, rented a moving van. I know someone IRL who went to SAE and is certified on probably the very same SSL (he keeps jokingly suggesting I buy his Mackie 8-bus so he can get a Toft ATB) so I may be able to confirm this one?

I could holiday but it wouldn't be the same as what I've been planning on doing (tour t'west coast, decide which place I like the best and then try to get a job there) I guess I could always be a complete dick and work for a few months then leave
