I'll say from experience that the MV amps aren't half bad. I had a '74 Twin with an MV and it sounded pretty much amazing. Then I got drunk and knocked it over while it was on, and the power transformer shit the bed. I then traded it for an Ovation acoustic.
But I still have another MV Twin... an early 90's model with the stupid push-pull MV that doesn't do anything except scoop the mids a bit.

Though I like Master Volumes because I play in my apartment
I e-mailed the guy to confirm whether it's MV or non. With Fenders of that vintage we're talking a fairly significant difference in the power section and cleanliness re: master or non.. Less wattage and dirtier for the NMV ones(!), which is what I want. If it's NMV, I'm all over that. Chris still has the speakers out of his that were replaced with THDs; I could probably get one from him that wasn't all bollocksed up. Even still, what's a decent 10" cost anyhoo, y'know?

I'm also a clean type of guy, which is important to note.
Though, that is really starting to change to a slightly-broken up clean when I play the Vox NT. The only thing is the Mastotron seems to like a cleaner tone to get the big massive sound, and slightly OD tones for the amp-about-to-explode sound
Luckily, my new and soon-to-be-coming home Titan should (based on clips of the Cerberus) a really fucking solid clean channel so I should have a few options

Silverface Fender?!
I'm with Tron on this. I enjoy loud cleans.

I plan on owning at least one more SF Fender in my life. Probably a Twin.

I likes the edge-of-breakup. Even with Blackface innards it's still cleaner than my AC30, and honestly a bit more manageable. The AC30 is louder, having played it alongside a '73 NMV Super repeatedly, recording, gigging and rehearsing.

A dimed 18w Dr. Z is cleaner than my clean tone. I am not kidding.

If I don't get the Super, some of my gear money is going to a Big Muff, because a guy in my vague general neighborhood is selling one for fifty bucks. Hell, I'll probably buy it anyhow if he still has it.

Assuming I wind up tracking drums for Geoff's band's whatnot, I have six records to work on this year. None of which will pay me a damn thing. I don't care.
Ah I don't know if it's worth it. Band looks like a bunch of bullshit lately. We're approaching our -gasp- first gig and the drama is already in excess.
Four more shows cumming up in the next month. If anyone knows who Sister Sin is- I don't; they're from Sweden I think?- we are opening for them.
I think I have heard of them... somewhere...
I really need to start band searching again

From now on I am no longer going to reference an "industry standard PANTONE formula matching guide" to ensure color accuracy. Fuck that. I'm gonna use one I made myself at home (Crayola Yellow is a proper color!) or one I get from some guy selling them out of the back of a van.

Fucking right. The Crayola colors are wildly under-represented in the Pantone charts also.
