Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
At lower volumes(and with my crate) i leave it on all the time. Basically, it just breaks up well. I find it makes a fantastic band-aid for a less-than-ideal amp volume (or amp quality) situation. Conversely, with my real amp, at drummer volumes, i don't use any pedals at all, or, just the hotcake as a fuzz(ish) element. Buuuut, when i use the pinecaster with the vintagey single coils, i do use something to boost it even into the real amp. I do require a certain amount of built in grit. Also, when i use the pinecaster with the ghetto(crate) setup, i bump the timmy gain up from like 12:00-1:00 to more like 3:00-3:30. The problem with higher output pickups is that they always come at the expense of brightness and definition. If you can get a good sound by boosting what you have, that might be the best course. Higher output pickups will be a different sort of bass/treble content.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I wish those 44w fuckers were a little cheaper. I would have a couple already. I have said it before i think, but for the way i use the timmy+crate right now, the Mag44 would be probably be perfect for me for a practice amp. So tiny too.

I am moving tomorrow. Also, a new band moved in down the hall from Garda. You might have heard of them. Every Time I Die.

Chris, I liked your pedal ideas. Not TL/Did read. How much is the breadboard you'd need for the terrorfuzz, anyhoo? I'd fund it for a custom build, don't care.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
It is only like $20 with the jumpers and shit. I just keep on having to buy food instead. Actually, that brings up another point. Lately i have decided that there are certain times in life where eating should become optional, because it just gets in the way. I mean, i love food. But like, i don't want to make any food right now. I don't want to spend the time to. I don't want to eat any food right now. It is total bullshit. I have other shit to do. I can't be spending all this time fucking making food and eating.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I am willing to throw in on a breadboard for chris to design some stuff. 1.) I got a fucking spectacular deal on the Timmy and Mastotron. 2.) Because I am planning on getting at least one custom build if he is up to it 3.) He should be able to have his bread, and his breadboard too.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I lowball all the time. It has worked. Ibanez Talman Semi-Hollow for a whopping $100. With the HSC that is pretty much impossible to find.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
guize. Can craigslist be trusted for things like house-sharing/apartment rental? Plans for going to Whistler have changed a bit and I may be going as soon as June (July/August are too expensive for flights) so I need to get some kind of rough accomodation plans sorted out asap. Don't wanna end up meeting some guy with a freezer full of imitation crab meat is all

I rented a place through CL once and it was not a good experience. Shitty landlords are shitty.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
The problem with moving is that neither myself nor Jen (my roommate) have a car. She doesn't even have a license. I suppose she can be forgiven, being a scientist and from Europe. Or something. Waiting and having to ply people with pizza and beer to move my stuff is bollocks.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Fuck dude, why would you buy one of those brand new? No one wants a 65 for that much money. I would hang on to it unless you can get at least a grand for it. Gunna be tough tho. Anyways, you should step up to a cr125.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
For what it's worth, they play a lot louder than their drummer- if they rehearse on a day we rehearse, I am going to ask them to please turn down, as we share an adjacent wall - and seem to just jam on random riffs. I haven't heard them play a full song yet. I assume they are in writing mode. It's kinda funny; I'm accidentally observing a major act, and save for the fact they have good guitar tones (the guy whose amp is unfortunately located near my keyboards is the better of the two), they could be any bunch of stoners aimlessly noodling on some seriously cacaphonous bullshit for two minutes at a time. Or all going off randomly on unrelated stuff. I can't imagine what their writing process is like. I am trying to not let this bias me against them.
