I missed out on an experience tonight: drinking beer in the front seat of a police car. We had some Magic Hat #9 at practice. I was consuming one when my bassist had to go take the car back, and he was my ride home. I was about to slam the rest when he's like "bring it with you, I haven't been drinking it", at which point I -ed. I proceeded to run into my one former co-worker who is actually awesome outside the art gallery downstairs where he was at some event. We chatted for a bit whilst I finished my beer.

I'm not a car person at all, I don't even own one, I didn't dislike my old Nissan Altima because I could stuff it full of gear. It was not a peppy beast by any means, and I kind of preferred in that way, as I felt more in control. But damn, we tore it up on the way there 'cause there were only dumbasses on the road, and we were in a police car so we could get away with it. It is good times. It's a Crown Vic with a Corvette engine.

Cars that are built to be fast feel much more in control than normal cars.

He asked what to wear and they basically said "we don't hire anyone who comes to an interview in a suit" - what the fuck is that about And yes I went in a suit to try and make a good impression as when I asked they said they would leave clothing choice to my discretion

"post production runner" at some big TV studios in London.. the role is basically general errand/tea boy for a while til you get promoted to doing some editing and stuff.
