I hope that's chiptune or something just as awesome. I need to investigate further.

It's The Minibosses' album Brass. They do awesome covers of Nintendo songs, but not chiptune. They are one of the best bands doing such things, if not the. Another good band to check out in that realm is the NESkimos.

The Minibosses bore the fuck out of me. They slow everything down and make it feel like a stupid jam band or something. Honestly they were one of my main motivations in the time I was in Powerglove...to make a video game band that DIDN'T sound like the Minibosses.

Sardo, if I'm remembering right, you saw Armcannon some while back?

I see Cam has become quite the Elton John fan of late.
This is quite true. I can genuinely say I really love every song off Madman Across The Water. The other albums I downloaded are a little bit more hit and miss, but this man has got The Goods.

It's become quite apparent to me how incredibly fantastic of a live band King Crimson is. I honestly like most of their live performances over their studio versions, which would explain why I have beat the hell out of the Absent Lovers live album.

The truly frightening thing about Mr. Belew is that he makes Mr. Fripp seem understated. Granted, much of that's Fripp's vibe- I'm just going to fucking sit there in a suit and tie and rip some tremendous insanity that rapes your face. Belew's thing is more to stand there all cheerful and perky whilst his guitar sounds like a dinosaur eating a spaceship.
Cam, I'll admit I'm not familiar with Sir Elton's back catalog. I know his classic '70s hits from having existed and paying attention to rock-and-roll, but that's roughly it. I do gather he had some substance once. I don't know the records.

Yes, Belew has this musical joy about him that puts a smile on my face when watching him whether what he's playing is upbeat or depressing. I think it's because he's just so fucking stoked about it himself.
Re: Elton John, I would highly suggest downloading the aforementioned album, Madman On The Water. If not just for this track alone;
I know that the dude's QC definitely went down the fucking toilet in a hurry during the 90's and I'd imagine during the 80's. But don't let that put you off of his stuff, the man could write a song like a motherbitch, and in a lot of different styles.
