Death in the family of our bass player made us cancel Saturday night's show.. then my other band stepped up and took the gig to help the bar and other band out, so I still did the show... was just so fucking hot for gigs this weekend. After Friday's show I had a dehydration headache for 8 hours Saturday morning, so I made sure I drank more water than alcohol last night so I wouldn't feel like shit today.

It is nastyhot. Actually, it's more the humidity than anything. I think I drank about two gallons of water yesterday. <-- only with water.


I got offered a 60u server rack. The price is the best- free. The catch? I gotta pick it up. Chris from my band bought it for his company and had to take two as part of a package deal, but only needs the one. They are too big to fit in his car. Apparently two of them fit perfectly in the back of our drummer's truck, which leads me to suspect that's how they got there in the first place.

Maaaan, it feels good to be playing geetar again.

So I bought some Soundmagic PL21 in ear 'phones as I need some for traveling and such. God damn they sound shitty and thin at the minute unless you get the positioning exactly right in your ear 'oles. Very disappoint, I may have to send them back as much as I hate doing that. At the minute I'm struggling to see why they get such good reviews.

edit - after a lot of playing around with the different sized ear buds they're pretty good. Makes it a bit easier to get the positioning right but it's still a bit fiddly.

Fixed the chain on the bouncy bike and just did a brutal single track loop. Took more punishment in 30 minutes then I can do to myself on my road bike.

Chips and salsa are totally a meal. It's grains and vegeables. As far as are concerned, that stuff's damn nutritious. Eat the whole thing, call it a meal.

I just ripped the smoke alarm out of the upstairs hall ceiling. It was up higher than I could reach standing on a chair and was no mean feat. My ears did not like that. It just started going off; presumably a dead battery, which is likely in the neighbor's yard at this point. It was all I could do not to wing the whole thing off the back second story porch into their pool. Which would really confuse whomever found it.
