Re: What Are U Listening To Right Now: Home Surgery Instruct
Man. I never expected that I could like this band as much as this.

I am not currently listening to this as I am on a computer with no speakers at the moment. In fact, I have not heard it, but it is apparently real and I am posting it for the edification of the handful of people on here who like them.

Androgynous person is androgynous.
Also, what sort of industrial? Danceydancy or stompystompy or noisynoisy?

More stompystompy with heavy guitar work with aforementioned androgynous female vocals.

Sounds weird in digital form. I think i listened to the squashdy sounding beat up cassette so many times that i now expect to hear sounds that aren't actually there on the original recording.

Some stuff just works on cassette. Quite honestly it's often a more sonically appealing medium than mp3, because digital aliasing can never sound like anything but hammered dogshit.

Re: What Are U Listening To Right Now: Home Surgery Instruct
Yarr, the last record that i had this happen with was Spiritualized Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space. The cassette copy had these crazy (awesome) low mid resonances popping out of it for some reason. In that case, i actually wound up ripping the cassette onto the computer to solve the issue of the awesome sounds *not* being on the CD version.
My copy of Trompe Le Monde would probably need to be moved into a new cassette housing in order for it to play correctly to do the same, as it has basically been played into the ground.

I love this song. I only wish that youtube videos were not at such shitball sound quality:
Also, autotune used to opposite effect in spots is something i can get behind.

It's fairly varied. It goes from guitar stuffs, to electronica to world type music. All of it done well. I'm very impressed. It's a solo project of a guy who composes tv and film soundtracks.

Re: What Are U Listening To Right Now: Home Surgery Instruct
I listened to a whole bunch of Fugazi earlier; 13 Songs, Repeater and In On The Kill Taker. Bitchin' rhythm section. Including whomever's on riffing-guitar at any given point. They're something I've not spent that much time with; like, I was aware of and had listened to, but never really grabbed me on an emotional level. It's the sort of thing where I understand I'm obviously just not making the connection when it's only hitting on the "this is a really good, rocking band doing their thing" intellectual level. I almost feel disrespectful listening and not quite getting it. There's something real and genuinely good and meaningful going on here and I can hear that, but it was done for someone else who isn't me, y'know? I almost feel wrong listening to it and going "these guys rock!"; it's like putting on Mahler 2 'cause it really rocks yer stereo.
