Post Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
The packaging is lovely, which is somewhat ironic seeing as back-in-the-day ersatz coffee probably wouldn't have had any packaging at all save for whatever the government who held you in captivity shipped whatever it was you made the stuff out of in.

That reminds me- there's an army surplus store down the street from my work. A while back they had some old wooden British ammo crates- they were for .303 Enfield rounds, so they had to be WWII or earlier- and while I don't know what I'd use them for, they'd be awesome to have if they weren't stupid expensive. I should look into this.

Spent 9 hours in the bike park today, fucking awesome. My arms are beyond tired, feel like they're about to fall off.

On the topic of bikes, I am getting a new one (just bought the lady one for her birthday and now am feeling the urge).

In true hipster fashion, I am buying a fixie.

In anti-hipster form, I am adding a freewheel immediately (already has handbreaks).

Fuck fixies.

Yeah fixies are the worst. Singlespeeds are brilliant if you live in a flat-ish area though. Word of warning, make sure the bike you buy has a flip-flop rear hub so you can definitely just put a freewheel on.

It is supposed to, if not I am getting the whole thing for $100 so I don't mind having to put some new (better quality) parts in there. Though, that definitely would be a bitch. From my understanding though putting a freewheel on fixies is pretty damn simple.

And yeah I live in a coastal are that was once formally a swamp. It is pretty much nothing but flat here. Well there is a slight incline as you head away from the ocean ....

EDIT: Looking into it, it looks like you can just slap a freewheel on a tracking hub with no locking ring and it will work just fine. Fuck you my future fixie friend, you shall be freewheel in a matter of days.

Very much obsessesed, yes. But I have never got so far into the "actually doing" stages as I have with this one because it's so damn simple. I wanted to do something with Rhiannon with furiously strummed acoustic work and yelling vocals for the chorus, but I don't know if I'll ever get around to it. :idk:

Also; getting a banjo soon. You should all be hearing that fairly soon.

Finally tracked down the Classic Albums episode about Paranoid; there's a surviving scratch vocal from Planet Caravan that sounds very unlike anything I'm used to hearing from Mr. Osbourne. Not at all strident in timbre.

Better songwriters, I think, then they get credit for, too. All manner of stuff you still hear in metal- and it still gets criticized for; long-form song structures, extended instrumental sections, random tempo changes and transitions to unrelated material out of nowhere, the band playing at times in lock-step unison... I suppose it can't sound too forced and clichéd when you invented the stuff and produced a masterpiece two albums into your career though. :idk:

It's interesting having seen the VH1 Ultimate Albums episode on Back In Black how very different two rough-and-ready blues-based slabs of unfuckwithable rawking fronted by questionable screechy singers are.

I slept over 12 hours today. I think it was because I had a dream I was dating a chick that looked exactly like Sasha Grey, except with bigger tits. I think I refused to wake up from that dream.

Lost every single hex key that fits for my Jackson. The strings on it are probably 2 years old, amazed that it's still in tune but would rather have fresh strings on that bish.

Yeah it's so good. All of my pics are on here but there aren't any riding ones, just scenery :red: I'm so glad I got a full sus for it, I think I'd be completely battered on a hardtail with all the braking bumps. Crank It Up would be insane on my ht though I think.

Encountered another fucking bear today, this one had a white stripe down its back, what a g :red:

Dev that bike is looking mighty hipster. I want something cheap like that for getting to/from the village, I don't trust leaving my mtb alone :red:

My cat immediately started chewing the tires, so they must be delicious.

And not a fixie. Freewheel on that bitch, just a good ol' fashioned single-speed with hand-brakes. Super simple bike but all the parts (plastic pedals ...) are going to slowly be replaced.

Granted it does have a flip-flop hub, so if I get adventurous I could flip my back wheel and go fixie, but they just seem silly to me.

I rode it yesterday and it rides pretty nice for $100.
