I built one of those as a high school science project.

Everything worked (at first) but I didn't have the resources to source out the rubber button cover. My ended up being very flat with more of a touch-press feel. It was kinda cool.

Also the easiest project ever, I just ganked parts from a bunch of used school keyboards. It didn't even work right (it was broken by the time the actual fair started), but it worked well enough to fool the board.
