I don't know why, but every once in awhile I find myself in the process of writing a 10+ minute song ala Yes' Close To The Edge. I don't know why I am so obsessed with this concept. Especially considering I never actually manage to finish them. But my Steve Howe impersonation is getting better!

May be playing Convergence next year, which is a goth-fest-thing-deal. One of the promoters is an acquaintance of mine. I approached her re: the thing to find out we were already on the list. (Albeit in the "if we can afford to book an opening act" category, to which I said I'll play for free; I'm lucky to get paid anyhow so I don't care much. It does help to be The Obvious Choice though.) Yay, local opener for some industrial bands or something I might not even have heard of as I don't follow that stuff- or anything really- anymore.

I was just about to make a new drum jam for y'allz but it turns out that EZ Drummer now realises it's not actually authorised to be used on my pc Time to finally buy some decent drum software when I can next afford it. Is SD2 worth getting or is there something better available yet? I would be inclined to go for "vintagey" rock drum sounds as opposed to tight clean and clear modern sounding stuff. And I haven't really liked the sounds of any SSD stuff I've heard, they all seem dull and bland.

You can do a lot with SD2. BFD tends to be on the extremely dry side, so that might work too. Raw, comparatively. (In the "un-fucked-with" way, not the "sketchy recording" way.) I would stick with SD2? Joe Baressi's Evil Drums is available as an expansion for SD2 as well (3rd party), and that is awesome.

Either work. I never liked SSD. Overprocessed modern. It has its place, I guess, but it's not a place I'm down with.

Weddings are teh suck. Severely awkward, bad food, and you're left either feeling sorry for someone- "I can't believe they're marrying this dick-or-bitch"- or "I will always be alone". Or they're family, and that ties into point 1, severely awkward.

Not being one for ceremony or ritual or liking people much, they are not my bag.

I hate weddings. I have to go to one in a few weeks, and I don't know this person. Well not really. Generally they do not serve food for us vegetarians. If so they look at you when you say, "Uhhh, there's bacon in my salad..." they retort, "But it's not meat, it's just bacon..." Bad music, bad food, bad cake, old people dancing. NO. Count me out.

Open bar on the other hand, YES. As long as they have the good shit. Or if it's open bar, then I'll pay for a real drink. Top shelf please.
