My housemate and my drummer were both incredulous about that being in Buffalo this coming year- "that's been all around the world", "did they just throw darts at a map?"

Three nights of gothrock/industrial/ambient/etc. The acts I can't disclose are the only ones I know about yet. Good venue too- a real venue, classy place actually, not a bar or skanky club. All live music, all name acts (if not big ones). They used to have lotsa live jazz there; Adrian Belew was just there, saw Peter Murphy there, etc. In the same general vicinity of places I'd go see, say, Opeth or The Tea Party or Ani. (All in the same block. Along with my rehearsal space/makeshift studio- this is convenient!) It helps to know the promoter.

I'll probably go onstage in a wedding dress brandishing a Tele that has "CLASS WAR" written on it or something similarly stupid.

I did 3 hours video shooting last night for 2 bands. Well I wasn't shooting, I was gitarrring/snynthing..... I has tired.

Also trying to hook up a Buffalo gig with an old friend and former bandmate in Nekronet. They're out of NYC and did a gig with Bile not too long ago. Small world indeed.

I just got an awesome scam/spam email. It was in something like size 20 times new roman as well..

Completed beer centurion + extra stoppage time before going out last night. It wasn't as hard as people make out. Pretty much a whole case of beer in about an hour and a half though

Oh and I've finally had inspiration for new riffage! It sounds quite Clutch

The English courses in my uni abbreviated ENGL and I have to take a course called ENGI 5150... I think the uni is trying to tell me something...

I've found the drum groove for the riffage, turns out I was way overcomplicating things It's coming along quite nicely. I'm liking having some inspiration again.

And that something is METAL.

I listen to death metal and grindcore during my commute generally (obviously), but it might as well be some ambient whale sounds. Cannot stay awake.

Doesn't work for staying awake on public transportation. I've found this out the hard way. White noise from engines + vibrations + square wave o' hate = sleepytimes. You would think it would, but it has the opposite effect and blends into the sleepywhitenoise. I used to fall asleep to Morbid Angel and Meshuggah all the time and found I had an easier time staying awake to, say, Delerium or Tom Waits or The Dresden Dolls.

Stuff like Mogwai or Isis wasn't any better either going from floaty to jagged. I found generalized rocksounds or dance music seemed to work the best. (Or classical stuff as I'd be constantly adjusting the volume to fight the ambient noise!) Public transportation knocks me out right quick, in general, though.

Er... it's that time of year when car heaters will be on. Ralph. Makes me nauseous. Especially back seats. I can take front seats, don't know why.
