Harmonica and saxophone played into a hot mic.

I'd engineer a recording for your rawkz band.

How are you liking my singer-songwriter mope with strings and chimes and clarinets and things so far?

I would love the fuck out of that.
You would see my vision.

I am enjoying it, but the Ani De Franco was my favorite by far.
It started to drag on a bit for me, but it ended strong.

Huge drums-in-a-room sound.
Multi-amp set up.

This sounds pretty sweet.

I just stumbled back onto this!
This is a good example of what my EPIC RAWKZ band would sound like.
I think you must have heard this back at Mapz 1.0.

God, I fucking love guitar harmonies.

I would like to think so.
Obviously, there would be shameless amounts of Thin Lizzy influence.

Room mics. Track the drums and bass together, live. Full takes if possible. Bleed is okay.

BTW, even if you don't like Gov't Mule, I'm betting you'd like their mixes on a good system. At least up through Deja Voodoo.

Also, the Ani song is the best of the three. And I think they're all fantastic, but that has a certain something to the writing and performance that take it over the proverbial edge. It's not just good. It's better.

If I ever wound up turning off the synths and pedals I don't doubt I'd go the fucked-up singer-songwriter route.

Honestly, guitar harmonies are probably my favorite thing in the world.
This is a riff I wrote with a three part harmony.
I think it sounds badass.

Distortion on everything.
Compression on everything.
Violent dissonance in pretty songs.
Phaser pedals. (but not chorus, or flange, or any other similar effect).
Velcrofuzz.
Snare drums that ring so much they sound like they have reverb on them.
Superpunchy drums with tea towels on everything and a tightly stuffed kick, sixties Beatles style.
BASS.
Sparklybright guitars.

Chris's post just inspired a Sonic Youth-esque melody in my head.

Clean and compressed chord progression with a touch of reverb and a little chorus for that ethereal feel.

Then stupid fed-back and fuzzed out dissonant riffs with lots of bending and trem pulls. Now I just need a guitar with a trem.

Strat cleans.
Leslie rotating speaker cabinets.
Chris' mention of phasers was good.
That trashy signature Slam snare sound.
Phil Lynott's voice.
George Thorogood's voice.

The "swing" feel.
Open/close Hi-hat rhythms.
Great sounding ride cymbals.
Blast beats.
Superfat single coil neck pickup overdriven lead tones.

Due to your Indie pedigree, no doubt.
You'd probably just dial it in to sound like a Dr. Z or Badcat.
