I have some VERY girthy trannies. Its a 60 watt dynaclone hifi set, power, output and choke. The OT is twice the size of my 100 watt weber OT.

The early sunns used dynaco transformers and parts, so i'm hoping this will make my amp a bit more sunny. The set is afterall a modern reproduction of what every "60 watt" Sunn amp had for trannies.


But building it is a while off. My buddy just got sponsored again to do a computer case mod, so he's offloading a bunch of cheap watercooling hardware that i'm going to pick up and start a water rig with.

After not playing guitar for months I strung my Warmoth standard and yeah... feels good, man.

I might have a couple axes but nothing tops this guitar for me.

I heart it, because I'm a total sap. That and Memoirs Of A Geisha. (Though the latter is far more depressing and the former much more fun.) Saw it in the theatre.

Sometimes you just fall in love with the one. How do you have it set up, anyhow; pickup configuration?

I think I'm gonna have to suck it up and find a 'bucker for my Strat's bridge (again; it's had everything from a 59 to an EMG 81 to... Probably done a dozen pickup changes on that thing), or Frankenstein a Tele pickup in there. I would sooner die than sell it, it being so beat up as to be worthless to anyone else and my most treasured thing in the whole world. This damn thing is part of me and is not replaceable. It is my best of all possible friends who never abandoned me- or, rather, it's my voice. This is not an object; it's an extension of my person at this point.

PIckups, it's an H-S-S guitar, though it's really all buckers almost. Duncan Distortion in the bridge, and then a pair of Dimarzio Fast Track mini buckers. They get a tone that's somewhere in between a hot humbucker and a single. And most importantly they can keep up with a hot bridge pickup. I have never been able to deal with the output drop from bridge to singles. Either I need strong singles or a weak bridge (like the Duncan '59 bridge in my strat, wonderful pickup, that).

The only flaw is that the Wilkinson bridge detunes the guitar when put to whammy use. That is a big flaw.

yar. You guys know i have a lot of geeters, but the one I'm constantly going to is the $250 Mexi-Tele with the splittable GFS rail pup in the bridge and hum in the neck. It just feels great.
