I mean really, what is prayer anyhow, but a hope for change, unaccompanied by any real action? :red:

This is so bizarrely near-accurate as a description of my current lifestyle, that it is proper sad-amusing.

Just switch ale for bread-making(they are pretty closely related already), and schematics for manuscripts. Oh and my mattress has springs in it. Just barely though.

Close enough. Monks make bread too. We can omit the Jesus requirement and have you a proper friar in no time at all.

Hey- it works well enough for me. :idk: Though I think I'm merely training for Crazy Old Man.

This place is sort of a clearinghouse for them.

...to top it off, I hiked down to the studio to find once again someone's locking the main door to the third floor. Of course my key ring broke some time ago and that was the key that got lost. I am angered. After attempting to get the building manager, to no avail, I headed home and am now roasting spiced-and-sliced potaters. Monks probably grew those too. Though they were probably not spiced at the time- I would be impressed with that.

Oh god, for some reason tonight my friends decided that trying to learn to play the board game of Dungeons and Dragons was a good idea. We spent all night trying to build our characters up and make some kind of sense of it. Really not my thing at all, it's far too in depth and I'm not a huge fan of level-up RPG stuff anyway.

Cam and I made a funny pair walking about the streets of Myrtle Beach.

I feel like the outcast in this conversation.

I'm a generally friendly person. I am also one of those people who participate in the cliche couples photos and such on Facebook, but any of you motherfuckers are free to block me for it :red: My wife and I just talk shit about everyone, which gives me the sense of superiority that allows me to treat them well enough to try to take advantage of any usefulness they may have. Those I don't like I tolerate with basic politeness, but couldn't give less of a shit about. But I was raised around old-money southern people, who are pros at hating people and pretending not to, and are also pretty manipulative sons of bitches.

I got roped into playing that with my host when i was in Germany in high school. I was utterly confused by the german/english conversation, and really by the basic concept of the game itself. They kept on getting pissed because i kept trying to do things that like normal dungeons and dragoneers, simply know not to do, because they break the game. :red:

Suffice to say, it is not my type of game. :red:

[ :geek: ] The last time I gamed was some years back; a friend and I actually wrote our own system. It was loosely D&D-based, but the setting was late 1800s, dark fantasy/horror/mystery, plot-driven stuff. We were the sorts who liked the improv acting aspect of it; since we both wrote the thing, he acted as DM and I played all the NPCs. It ran smoothly for some time, too. Though I don't think we got far enough into it that our friends' motley band of paranormal investigators discovered they had been largely working for the villain much of the time. We liked our plot twists, red herrings, and making them have to think their way out. [/ :geek: ]

That flannel looks so silly on me outside of the context of that when I look at it in a picture now. And I am pretty sure Devin is the only other bastard I know who wears the same basic starving physique sized clothing, so it worked out charmingly.

I just went to see The Woman In Black, I would recommend it if you like scary films with unnerving atmospheres. Apparently the manor it was based around is local to me. Fucked if I'm going near there any time soon :red:

It appears my drummer is ill with teh fl00, so I'm attempting to re-enlist my studio collaborator to help snatch that rack (that came out so wrong  ) on short-ish notice.

So that band I was going to mix but ragequit? Their drummer had an e-kit so I proceeded in recording e-kit+real overheads and I just got the first song from the album done, and they dig it. Things are picking up.

E-Kit and overheads is a surprisingly winning combo. We are used already to hearing drums all doctored, just the cymbals have got to be real. And cymbals with no drums in them? So eaaasy to work with.
