Yes, it is! Her name is Melanie Laurent, she is a French Jew. I just recently saw her in a movie called Beginners with her and Ewan McGregor. I liked it muchly, she is lovely in it.

I've been listening to this quite a bit the past few days. I heard it on the radio and it was one of the first songs I've heard on there that was actually good.

Yeah, they are fucking great. Monuments To Thieves is another one of my favoritest records, right up there with the DA for fastnangry stuff, really, just a different flavor of fantastic.

I never got to see them when they were together, but i did get to see Tragedy, and with so many of the pieces there, certain parts were just right, but the whole time i was just wishing they would play HHIG songs instead. The guitars sounded amazing though, and that dood's voice is just as gnarly as ever.

Yeah man, she likes noise. But she is not about noise, so what comes out is a little more interesting.

Essentially, she is a singer/songwriter type, but who is not at all afraid to lay waste to all bystanders, if the mood strikes.

Agreed. They have some of the right sounds in there, but they are kind of mixed up and in the wrong places, with too many other elements added that detract from their crushingness. It has/had so many HHIG members, but made a very poor replacement.

And the vocalist is very.. "Niche", but there are some really cool things going on instrumentally.

This one I like best so far, it is quite Modest Mouse-y. Has a slick bassline with a sweet bass tone. Fuck, I really do love that Isaac Brock-y guitar tone.. What the hell is all going on there exactly? I mean this dude basically replicates This Is A Long Drive's tone perfectly.

It seems I am less impressed as I go on. The first few songs were cool, but they are now playing boring rock songs with bad vocals.

Sort of like Rites of Spring without the energetic, charismatic vocals and B-grade riffs.

Apparently I was so out-of-it when I made this post that it ended up in the wrong topic.

The set up was sweet, but it fell apart a bunch with the weak-ass vocals. This would be a really excellent band if they went instrumental. Even some cliche earlyscreamo shouts would be a (massive) improvement.
