I think a lot of that tone is how the amp is played.
You gotta whack the fuck out of the strings.

Hmm, maybe. Then again, I am a really heavy handed player so ... :idk:

I love Marshall tones but have not been successfull with them myself. Like how we were talking about the Strat bridge single. I like the tone itself, just not when I am using it :red:.

Devin: I Make Things Sound Bad.

Also, :red: needs to be :o . I keep messing that up.

I hit my strings hard because it sounds good to me. I break a .52 about twice a month.

This is the sound of me doubting that: . It could be that you just make things sound bad as you'd said. :poke:

I do OK with cheap shit.

This is probably to your advantage, because Expensive Things Are Expensive.

New things I like the sounds of...

The exhaust on my new motorcycle at 11k rpm.
That great sound when you open a beer. (only really works with cans)

I also have a different perspective on Expensive than most. The ~$800 I would have to spend on my Jazzmaster is almost unjustifiably Expensive to me.

Crisp can openings sound awesome. I generally love the sound of things that are "crisp" though, such as the aforementioned quality car door etc.

I also love the sound of a loud mountain or road bike freewheel. And the sound of tyres buzzing along a dusty trail.

The sound of a truck with moderately loud exhaust going way to fast on a dirt road is also awesome.

On that note, driving sidways way too fast on a gravel road sounds awesome. The engine/exhaust noise wailing away at or near the rev limiter, the tornado roar of rocks and dirt/sand being flung against the bottom of the car, all that shit is so good.
