Indeed! I've settled on the silverburst Tele as my main riffing apparatus for most of the, well, riffing things, and I've bashed my way through a fair bit of it already, and this with a minimum of five full takes to choose from for everything. :rawk: I'm fairly positive the beat-to-hell black Strat will be used for the majority, if not all of the shredly bits though. And fear not- there's plenty of electronics and effect freakouts too.

Gig last night, another tonight.... tonights weapons are '07 Les Paul and '10 LP Jr. I have always been a humbucker guy, but have really gotten an ear for my singles, I love the P90 in the LP Jr and last week I was hitting my American Tele at the GnR show in Vermont.

Man, I really wish there more people in my area who wanted to jam and listened to good music and shit.. That is one thing I really hate about growing up in the suburbs.

Same here. Got a friend who plays guitar, we want to get a band going. It's hard to find people who will be able to work around my annoying work schedule though, it's impossible to have regular practices my "weekends" are a different 2 days of every week. I think only my friends will put up with it, but we're a drummer, bassist and singer short :(

This is why maps needs a cult-style compound in which we all habitate and rockulate.

Sweet. I look forward to some ballsy twang action on the rhythms. Are you gonna do the bluesy neck pickup or some plinky in between action...?

I find it hilarious that I dress exactly the same for weddings and funerals.

Also, I fail miserably at the whole tie thing.

Dude, I swear it's all about that middle position plunkiness.

:unstrung: So far it's come out pretty good. I'm done with the Tele bits save for maybe two solos I'm not decided on and a clean part I need to restring for at this point because it's very much the stereotypical Tele bridge --> tremolo --> old-ass Fender combo sound. The silverburst is fairly un-twangy for a Tele; the pickups are pretty hot and it's a comparatively dark and thick sounding guitar, at least for a Tele with singles.

Re: the solo-y bits, mostly neck pickup, at least for the upper fret shreddy stuff. It's good for that. Though I'm at least as likely to be playing in harmonic minor or diminished or locrian or throwing in sweeps as I am to be ripping pentatonics.

I took the pickguard off earlier thinking I might re-wire the Dimarzio Virtual Vintage Solo in the bridge as a humbucker, but after looking at it and realizing I'd probably have to replace the 5-way switch (because that's so much fun :red: ) I decided "why bother?" and put it off again for the next time I restring the thing. It's not as if I use the bridge pickup much on the Strat save for live work anyhow.

The middle position I use a ton for cleans and mid-gain stuff. IMO the middle on the Strat is super-underrated. It's cool for most things you don't need high gain for.

So far I am successfully sober. I have a buddy who's in on it with me, so it helps to have someone else since you're not letting only yourself self down, but another person.

Also, Strat middle position is definitely a fun/funny sound. Has it's place, but there aren't a lot of places I would find myself using it (or a Strat at all for that matter). But the middle position on my Tele is my favorite sound, though it has WRHBs. But with a regular Tele, I'd just kick it in the bridge position normally, shit's too bright though with the HBs. At least when not balls out distorted as fuck, at which point the character of the middle position sounds sort of funny..

That it is. Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs... That is some hellacious middle pickup.

I have guitarpro I am always int'trested.

Damn dude, Bridge of Sighs.. fuck that was an awesome tone and feel.

Strat middle pickup is quite delectable. I find the bridge normally too bright. BUt nowadays I am all about single cuts, whether it bea LP LP Jr or Tele... that's pretty much all I play. I hit the CS-339 a bit, but that bit is tweaky on staying in tune. I believe it's hanging on the nut and I should check it out, but I was only using it in the GnR band but it's almost too pretty to play live, I treat my guitars like the dirty whores they are live.....

Had some new inspiration for some riffage :isay: Its a bit more metalcore than usual though and features some triplet drop-d chugs :rawk: Now I've just gotta be arsed to program some drums.

I have like 5 rolls of solder on my workbench at work. I rarely ever actually have to use it.
