Emotionally I feel fine, yet I can't get myself to do anything productive... Happily depressed? I'm going to go drink some coffee and try to write up this lab report...

I understand that. Sometimes I've found myself totally unproductive in part, I think, because I wasn't stressed or otherwise upset over something. At which point I'll happily accomplish nothing at all worth mentioning.

I've actually fallen to a bit of depression myself. Small dose though, It might be in part that I am really only in 2 bands now, one (GnR) we don't practice unless it for a gig (no new material for that one) and I did get a call yesterday, they really want me to do Cleveland (this Saturday) and I thought about it and even called my lady and mentioned that they were willing to drive back the same night, but she asked me if I was nuts. I have a gig the night night before until 2 am, have to leave for Cleveland at 4 am, 8 hour drive(?) play then return, I would be shot all day Sunday. I'm torn here, I want to do the show, but there are times I have to put my kids in the front of the line.

The other band that I quit I have 1 or 2 more gigs left (Friday night) and the other band is breaking in a new drummer. Maybe I'm depressed not having to learn new material.

also, job suck major ass. I'm not one to keep quiet, especially since I'm very good at my job and our "board" is run by fuckwits. I had a "talkling" to last week. I should watch my attitude. Can I help it if everyone else is an asshole?

Feeling a bit down too. School is reaching critical mass, yet all I want to do is play my instruments and record/write shit. Work shifts have increased dramatically due to a coworker quitting and I was already fairly busy. I do need that extra skrill though. SET ME FREEE

Applied for some pretty nice sounding jobs with better pay and normal hours. I don't expect to hear back from them though as usual I now have 2 days off so I plan on drinking to an excess tomorrow night.

I think I just need to set a schedule and stick to it. Study 30min per day per class (2 and a half hours) and at least an hour to an hour and a half of PRACTICE at guitar. I'm trying to get in touch with my inner latino rhythms and phrases, which overall I'm ok at, but being from where I'm from, I suck. (Thinkas if you were from Norway and you are just OK at metal)

And now that the band is just me and the drummer, I think I need to take over, which should be interesting as I'm not enough of a people person to motivate anyone to do anything, much less get other musicians to join my band.

To top the day off, I have slight nausea. The type where you just feel kinda shitty, but its not enough to actually hack it up and feel better. Went from allergies to actually getting sick.

Put in my two weeks notice at my job, got another job with higher pay and incentives for booking rooms the next day. Worked there this morning, already making reservations on a new system which really impressed the boss folk. It's an ok gig, but it will be 1000% less stressful and I will actually work in an office with people to talk to. Will make life a lot easier when it comes to looking for careers around here. Also the company usually books the rooms for the bands playing at the House of Blues, so the chance to meet celebrity type folk is there.

Feels good to just increase my income and lower my stress level with one day of effort.

Sounds like it could be a pretty fun job.

Also, it turns out I initiated a company-wide scandal forcing them to go back through payroll for the last two years to pay every employee in the company the OT pay they most likely were screwed out of.

Sigh. So my schedule is at the "completely backwards" stage. As much as I'm a misanthropic, solitary creature of the night, this is always depressing and massively demotivating. It's the kind of thing that makes me want to take up online gaming.

There's always bandstuff. And solorecordstuff. Though I'm not sure if sitting in front of my computer at all hours attempting to be productive (and likely failing at it) is better than going to bars, worse, or just cheaper.

I have actually been trying reasonably hard lately to get asleep early and stay there, get a bit more level/likepeopledo, but i have not really been doing a wonderful job of it.

I am also a little cranky about existence in general, because i seem to have lost whatever instinct i ever possessed for knowing: A. When a thing isn't getting done because i need to try harder, versus. B. When a thing will never get done because i am forcing it into a failmode.

As much as it's... Not Me, I'm a lot more productive when I'm about and functioning at quasi-normal hours. Getting up at 7 PM does not count. Somehow I'm just massively more inefficient this way. Were it 3 PM my brain would tell me "you should be out and useful" where at 3 AM it tells me "do nothing".

The complete lack of human contact and enforced quietness don't help much either.

I may try and remedy the problem by just staying up. Either that or I'll say "screw it" and rationalize attempting to roll with it by spending tomorrow at the Snaxodrome reamping guitars and yelling a lot. I have to go there anyhow.

I've been getting ~3 hours of sleep a night here recently. My brain just doesn't want me to go to bed before 3am and I have to get up at around 6 to go fix cars. Even on my days off I still only get about ~5 hours of sleep because I still have shit to do.
