Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I see why you say soil is better, which can and can't be true. Hydro isn't too hard to work with if you understand your system and shit. The biggest determining factor is nutrients. I personally spent a lot of money on expensive, premium nutes. Our bud would be absolute bammer if it weren't for the high quality food the plants were receiving. The reason I say genetics is because that's what's determining why it's going hermaphroditic. These plants were never put into serious shock so the only other reason we can assume that they almost all began sexing themselves is because they had been cloned out too many times, as in cloning clones. Inbreeding like that can be harmless for awhile, but eventually you de-stablize the genetics and you get mutated plants. EDIT: And because the plants are hermaphroditic, they are low yielding by nature of their mutation. Also, the plant puts less energy into bud and resin production because it begins producing seeds. But yeah, the greatest buds are grown organically for sure, but unless you are using SUPER nice organic soil and nutes and have a helluva green thumb, hydro can keep up with soil given the plants are the same and the lights are the same. They both have their own merits, IMO.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
My beef with hydro is also the room for error. If the plants drink up all the nutes and you don't get a chance to fill it up they are just sitting there in bubbling water. Or you could overfeed them. You don't have that problem so much with soil, the nature of it gives you a bit of a 'buffer' so you can act like a gardener and not a biologist. Ah well, we all have our preferences. BTW I ended up editing the previous post with further inquiries...

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Our hydro system has a big 55 gallon reservoir on it that evenly distributes the nutes over the course of a week, and then it is replaced with the specific nute blend pertaining to that week's growth. And sending a little bit of clean water through the system every once is just fine, people usually recommend flushing your plants to remove some resin from the roots so they can more effectively absorb the nutrients when they are sent through the system afterwards. 2,600 watts spread out over two 1,000 watt modern hoods (damn nice ones) and an old school china hat. And yes, high pressure sodium. Dooder, I would be stoked to get some Second Wind seeds.

I know a guy who had the FBI and DEA show up at his place over such shenanigans here in the bible belt. They do not approve of such actions in these parts, but herbage is less of a big deal considering we have huge problems with prescription meds and meth.

Just got back from seeing Decapitated, Baroness and Meshuggah. The fact that these are some of my favorite bands is only surpassed by the fact that I met Big Chocolate and head banged with him for half of Meshuggah's set.

Oh fuck yeah, just straight bizarre. He lives here now and my friend is good buddies with him. Looks like I might kick it with him next week. Like I said: Fucking weird. This dude has been my hero since I was 16, it just doesn't make sense.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I've been trying the drum thing again this week. I fail fairly miserably at it, though. I need to find realistic songs to try out. (About the only ones I've stumbled onto that I didn't completely butcher when trying so far are Extreme - Rest in Peace and Mercyful Fate - The Bell Witch [Actually, I should probably try other songs from In the Shadows...Morton Neilsen's drum patterns don't seem terribly complex]) My main issue so far seems to be limb independence (Well, between arms and legs. Not quite so much between each arm or each leg.)

What's the accepted protocol for stealing a girlfriend from a guy who you don't know, and who seems like a bit of a twat? Because I'm working on something from last night and she seemed well up for it
