Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Noice, all kinds of swellmobiles from the proper olddays plus a small stack of Group B beasties and a couplefew of my favorite rallycars ever(the MkII Escort). We don't have enough of these sorts of events over here. There are hillclimbs and rallies, and they are fun, but around here, a bit more punk rock sort of vehicle selection in those, lots of DIYed privateer hackjob sorts of mobiles. Which i am into for sure from my own personal aesthetic standpoint. But it would be nice to see some properly glossy old racecars into the mix more as well. We don't really seem to get these combination nice old sportscarsshow plus actual event things. Not on this coast anyhow. Not enough racetracks or mansions/castles with courses on the grounds around here i guess. Also: This fucking thing is amazing and we all should have them and be the most badass motorcycle gang evar:

What a gloriously dangerous and impractical vehicle.

I sat on that thing! Never has a motorised vehicle felt so dangerous while stationary and disengaged. Cool thing is all the cars that were on track doing the course were open to go and look/photo/touch. Some real nice and expensive beasts on display. Tomorrow I'm gonna sift through the couple 100 photos I took and I'll post some choice cuts.

Went to see Blink 182 last night and it was awesome They put on a great show and the sound was really good. Played for about 2 hours as well. The supports Twin Atlantic and All American Rejects were a bit gash though.

Also: I confess, I am that asswhole who will check levels with shred-wank solely for the sake of doing it and getting a reaction. If I played in a metal band it would be nothing, par for the course, not even that good really, but outside of that it's for coming out of nowhere.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I really need to start working on my chops again. I made a bit of progress but kinda just ... stopped practicing. Fell back into my comfort zone and such. I really don't even need the technique for what I do musically, but it's another tool that wouldn't hurt me to have and a little less slop might make my recording life a lot easier. I need beginner level shred songs to start learning but I kind of got lazy about looking for them, printing out tabs or music and then actually learning them. I think I'm just lazy.

I have the worst sunburn I've ever had in my fucking life. Was helping a buddy do ball joints on his truck yesterday and it was fucking hot and sunny... no shade to be found. I'm going to end up with a pretty fucking killer tan though.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
In case you guys don't know, the Brutus (according to Jeremy Clarkson), is powered by a BMW v5,000,000 aircraft engine. There's a couple more aircraft engine powered cars... a '57 Chevy in Australia powered by a Merlin V12, and a 193something Rolls Royce Ghost in Britain somewhere powered by the engine from a Spitfire. These are the ones I know about. Knowing people and their tendencies to overdo everything, I'm sure there's more floating around.
Also, Jay Leno has some sort of home built car powered by the engine from a Patton tank.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Not only did our CDs arrive a week late, they buggered up the digipaks themselves and put the trays on the wrong side, obscuring the lyrics. We are not pleased by this. Chris-from-the-band is right pissed. And he is as mellow and easy-going as you could ask for. While I was at the band panel at Convergence on Sunday, I discussed the missing merch thing briefly and Voltaire asked why we didn't just go with DiscMakers? Lesson = learned. I will have to inform the aforementioned of the ongoing saga. Needless to say, we're getting the whole lot re-printed; the packaging at least. Anger. On the plus side, they didn't fuck up the audio, which is nice. And our stickers look fabulous. Who wants a Garda sticker?

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Where can I order a CD with said sticker?
Also if they fucked up the cases really badly I'd be calling up and getting them to do it again, unless you need them quickly. That may just be the obsessive/perfectionist in me though.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Oh, Chris has been on the phone with them repeatedly and insists they run the whole lot again. Considering we got a 6-panel digipak and the whole thing is covered with snazzy art... Being snooty perfectionists ourselves, we won't tolerated f'd up merch. It would make us look unprofessional. We don't have an order page up at the moment- probably an oversight on our part- as we don't have anything to actually move- aside from stickers and preorders. So for now we're just taking names (and kicking ass?), e-mail and physical mailing addresses.
