We get some tropical storms and such here too... we got leftovers of Katrina, actually, but where I'm so far north, all that happens is tons of fucking flooding and trees down and shit. Mountains are bad about that... or at least the valleys in between them.

Last night I recorded a pipa (chinese stringed instrument) and flamenco/classical (girlfriend's dad) guitar duo in this big event hall with fantastic acoustics. We used a pair of SM81s in an ORTF stereo arrangement. It sounds gorgeous... so much ambience... hopefully clips will arise sooner or later.

We have a public health insurance and it works for what it is; health insurance for people who can't afford health insurance. You can't go to whichever doctor you want, but you do have insurance so you aren't fucked when something happens. Or you can be dumb and go on life without health insurance if you really wanted to though, no penalty/fine. If you make any sensible amount of money, you usually pay a much better private health insurance company.
