I got paid!

I got a 2 week gig with my aunt who works for the PR's house of representative's president(speaker?). I have a couple of traffic tickets to pay but maybe I'll have some cash left over for something nice.

I have been more busy than I have ever been in my entire life.

I don't have anything extraordinary happening. Summer is busy at work, I am building a game, working (hardly) on music, preparing the campaign for our D&D game and doing married-adult stuff. But damn, it has been a long time since I have just chilled the fuck out for a day.

Can't wait for the summer to be over so work-time becomes paid-to-do-dumb-shit time.

The Garda CDs finally came in! They're not eff'd up this time, either. They look rather badass, if I do say so myself.

It would appear that a substance rather like blood is coming out of parts not generally designed for it. Prolly something urinary tract infectiony. Which of course means my favorite pet-related pasttime: force feeding disgusting unnaturally pink-colored medicine into angry animals.

Also, why the fuck does it smell like bubblegum? Wouldn't it make more sense to make it smell like something cats actually, i don't know, like? I dunno, tuna or chicken or, well, i guess almost anything but fucking Bubbalicious?

I suppose that this means that it also has bubble gum flavoring in it?

I am just saying, it doesn't seem too crazy to me, to think that if they applied themselves a bit more, that the pharmaceutical megacorporations might be able to devise and produce a pet antibiotic, that pets would like, not get all violent about being forced to eat it. Like, is it too far out of the realm of conceivable possibility to think that they might even be able to (as pets are kid of already used to eating some kind of odd shit) come up with a drug that an animal would want to eat on purpose?

Fourteen days of this, twice a day? You are fucking shitting me. I have done it before with other pets, but dudes. It is a Bad Scene.

I'm picking up a new drum kit tomorrow. Excited. It's something I'm really into... late eighties solid colour drums with long ass lugs. Like this:

Specifically having a hard on for red. And long lugs. I guess I mostly want it for visual reasons, but it's better than what I currently play.

Fucking red as fuck. Though the two rack toms are more of a transparent red. They have some damage to the finish but for 175$, can't go wrong!

So, I'm out with my friends' band at a bar after the show. I'm geektalking sound engineering with one of their friends (who knows my bassists' nephew we work with at Ze Big Studio; he just bought a Wheatstone console with direct outs on every channel... etc. Nerdshit), we go to the car after the bar closes and BAM! There's a dude throwing out a bunch of speaker stands. Hells yeah we took those. So I have some speaker stands. I needed a pair for my "B" monitors anyhoo.

My housemate left five ears of corn in a bag on the kitchen table.

The package containing said corn is now designated as MK I rev A CORN (x5) and they have individual serial number tags.

If there was a decent appropriate-sized cardboard box kicking around, they would have been packaged up nicely.

hmm just been contacted by this singer looking to get a band going. Not sure on his voice, it's kinda cheesy and weird but he said he wasn't really into the bands material and I wonder if it'd sound better over the kind of stuff I do.. will try and arrange a jam at some point. I really want to get a band going, may have found a drummer through a mutual friend so we just need a bassist and singer
