Respectable. Probably the best of the post-WWIII records. Certainly the most consistent. I almost said I'll have to give it a few more spins to see where it falls overall, but no, that's where it winds up. The last few would have a couple standouts (Free Your Hate, Strut, etc.) surrounded by a fair bit of meh. This is pretty solid throughout. Of note, more clean vocals from The Kap'n, which is interesting, and no Raymond Watts, for which I are disappoint. But a gooder one throughout.





Also, I dig the new Metric. Synthysynthy- IIRC she's a big user of the DSI Poly Evolver, and if that bears any resemblance to the DSI Prophet 08 sonically, it's all over the thing. Lots of super-processed backing vocals, too, though they're mostly not too prominent in the mix. Vocoder all over. But that's irrelephant, as the songs are there. I'm rather bad with titles, so the ones that really caught my attention escape me at the moment, but for my tastes it is good stuff.

I couldn't get into the new Metric album. It just didn't do anything for me. It was alright, but didn't stand with their previous efforts (prior to Fantasies).

I like it better than Fantasies, at least at first listen.

yes, after not listening much to him before last year, then purchasing most of his collection, this is my fav.

Probably mine, too, at least as far as whole Nick Cave + Bad Seeds records from start-to-finish go. The duets with Ms. Harvey and Ms. Minogue are so different in mood from the rest of the record, which exults in its lurid violence rather than laments it, but they're so beautiful.

And speaking of things with ladysingers, and things I mentioned a few posts back, what are your thoughts on Metric, Mr. tor?

I like a Metric a lot, but have not spent time with the latest offering. I will change that today. Sometimes I just need a reminder to listen to something and I was looking to d/l something to listen to and this will be a good time to get familiar with the album.

Mark Arm could definitely bring the rock.
