Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I would totally huff some military grade corn up.
In between force-feeding my cat antibiotics, i decided to repair my front steps. Years of abuse and shoddy repair by others had accumulated in such a form as to make the whole path from driveway to front door, somewhat of an obstacle course/ankle strength tester. My sister failed the course and test the other day, somewhat comic/tragically, so i figured it was time at least to make it err... kind of flat? Well, suffice to say, i am no mason. And "flat" is a generally relative sort of term anyhow, right?
I do enjoy how relatively inexpensive and serious concrete happens to be though. It makes one kind of wish to start casting beasts and statues of the stuff. My older sister has a fine concrete squirrel that we liberated from my grandmother's garden years ago when my grandmother moved to an assisted living home. I am thinking that we need to make a plaster cast of the thing. And then, about 300 more of the concrete critters for a sort of animal invasion yard installation.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
in response to many above posts.
Cats do not like medicine. Might be easier to let them die and train a whole new one. For such small animals they can shred a humans arms like their mighty larger cousins. I would prefer giving medicine to a hungry crocodile. Bubble gum flavored cat medicine does seem a bit errant.
Geoff that is a fine looking kit there. it is also uhmmm RED. And excellent price.
Speaker stands... YEUUSSSS!
Speaking of corn, they should have serial numbers or at least lot numbers. I bought 5 ears for my familial unit yesterday, put them on the bbq and after cooking and opening them, they seemed like they were from different countries. One white corn, one white and yellow, one was I don't know what the fuck it was.. they were all sold in the same area at the foodstuffs store. So two people had nice corn and 3 had shitty corn. They need lot numbers.
Chris, could you possible cast the squirrels to possible hold spears or guns. Then i would put an order in for a few myself.....
also, looks like the band will be back up your way again, we will be booked for a Friday and Saturday so will have a full day to chill between.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
The squirrel as originally found in my grandmothers garden is life sized, clutching an acorn. It would be conceivably possible, to make it a tiny grenade or dagger i think. A spear could work too. Or it just occurred to me, perhaps something more subtle, like a closed switchblade. Such that one, on first glance, might be all like "aw, that squirrely-poo has a little sticky stick. oh wait, is that a switchblade? do you think it knows how to use--- aw fuck." Aslo, let me know dates for yer shows and i will have a much better chance of being around and/or not being tied to visiting relatives or similar.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
That isn't the very same one, but the same model, at least in terms of kick drum and floor tom being Pearl Export, the rack toms are Pearl MLX. I picked it up. It is old and dirty, and has a couple tiny bits missing. I don't get to go home very often so it will take a little while to get it clean, reskinned, tuned, etc. But so far so good, I got the kick drum set up. The toms are really fucking nice, aside from the cosmetic damage. The wood man, it is beautiful.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
What wood is it made out of? (Or woods, as the case may be.) One of my friends had some older mahogany Pearl toms for a while and they were pretty badass, really deep and thick sounding.
Still with the same snare you've been using?

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I have a completely random craving for granola, like, out of fucking nowhere. It's not my nature to suddenly want random foodstuffs for no apparent reason. I'm not at all hungry and I'm quite certain I'm not pregnant, so I don't know what this is all about.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I will suggest that the most rational cause/explanation for this odd foodcraving seems likely to be: Demons.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
The toms are maple, as the badge on them is eager to point out. The export parts of the kit... oh, who knows. The snare, still with the Pearl Sensitone Elite. That thing kills. It was like a jackhammer when we played Saturday. I guess it worked out that I'm all Pearl kit now.

I beg to differ. I think Snaxie is to be the next Virgin Mary. I think BELT has impregnated Snaxie with our Messiah. I believe we will need to come up with a proper name, one better than Jesus. Oscar?

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
My last grand parent (dad's father) died on Thursday and we buried him yesterday. He died of Alzheimer (got to the point where he didn't know how to swallow). That disease kills so slowly that I just felt a huge (sad) sigh of relief when he finally died.

Yarr. Condolences. That is how my grandfather went, and it was kind of the same thing. By the time he died, it was almost more about relief than about death/loss.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Hmm. This is an interesting angle which had not occurred to me. It does make some sense though, why would demons all of a sudden decide to fuck with diet? You would think they would be busy enough making magnets and batteries work, anyhow. Hmm. A possible human BELT child. How Interesting.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
It's really horrible watching them go, I know. I'd never heard of Alzheimer's getting so far though! Here's hoping it's cured within our lifetimes.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Yup, it was a little surreal, though we still talk often so it's not too incrediweird. It was supezlazercray though, breh. They played with this band from Oregon called Larry And His Flask, super fucking righteous folkbluegrasspunk type stuff. I also did something I set out a long time ago to do, and was not met with opposition. All in all, it was definitely a great night.
