Some sort of urinary tract biz.

It has been two weeks of forcefed cat antibiotics, and as i understand it, a cat's body will generally resolve most non-infection urinary issues sort of on its own within a fourteen day-ish period, but after a couple weeks of nothing particularly bad going on, the cat has begun to let it be known today that her insides are unpleasanted.

Which, in cat terms, means: making clear and definite eye contact, and then peeing in the middle of the kitchen. Over and over again. It is like the "I AM UNHAPPY!" statement of those without voices.

I mean really, if one were a human even, incapable of vocal communication, kitchen floor messing of this variety, would generally be a solid enough manner of making one's complaints known. The cat's instinctual practices are not at all out of the realm of rational actions. And there are certainly worse locations that could have been chosen, from a cleanup perspective.

The main trouble is, if the cat does have a kidney stone problem, it likely means the double horror of cat surgery. Rough on and dangerous for the cats, and additionally, somewhat blindingly expensive per square pound.

The best way for me to program drums fills is to play air drums while I'm listening to whatever I'm programing drums to...

Also, I have a job offer for Thursday, but it's outside the limits for which I would drive to work at minimum wage. Supposedly it comes with certain benefits but I really dislike that part of Puerto Rico

Mojo for your kitty Chris!

Weird, it seems you and the guys I am learning from speak a little differently. With them it would be either yo soy or estoy, depending upon context.

"Soy" is used more for things that you are. I'm strong = Yo soy fuerte. I'm an alcoholic = Yo soy un alcohólico While "estoy" is more of a state of being. I'm tired = Yo estoy cansado. I'm ready = Yo estoy listo.

Today's old man beer:

Image

Today i discovered that what looked like a small wine and liquor store next to my grocery store, was actually a small window and doorway, leading to a quite large store containing more glorious beerz than any other local store possesses. They have fancy shit i haven't seen anyone carrying, and then they have all of the old man beers as well. It is actually kind of crazy that it was just hiding there the last few months.

Schlitz? That is proper Old Man Beer.

I can't think of anywhere around here that carries such things. Aside from the usual stuff (Cheap domestic beer [including Canadian beer] and the usual suspects like Corona and Heiniken) it seems to be all craft/micro beers, except for our one local cheepbeer, Genesee.

Yarr, but the Genesee plant also contract brews for lots of other folks, don't you get some of those sorts of things? Actually i think they even do one or more of the Narragansett beers(EDIT: yarr, the internet says that Genesee brews the LAGER(my preferred Old Man Beer offering) for them). I guess it wouldn't be terribly surprising if you didn't get them in local stores though.

And this Schlitz, is actually extra oldmannish and interesting, because it is the "Classic '60s Formula", which most places around here don't carry at all, and i was a little surprised to find at this hidden beerhole. It, like the Narragansett, is, though Clearly Old Man American Adjunct Lager Style Beer, actually quite decent at it all.

Something like the Miller High Life is okay, particularly from an Old Man Beer Graphic Design Aesthetic sense, but still kind of rough around the edges for the actual drinking of: overfizzy, overyeasty, almost kind of weird hollow aftertastey. But the Schlitz and Narragansett are actually kind of solid/good, particularly at a dollar per 16oz. Which really is perhaps the true and most virtuous of the virtues of the Old Man American Adjunct Lager Style.

In absolute troof, if we were talking about Real Beer People Beer, i would not be able to justify or remotely afford having any in the house.

Though this new magical mystery beerhole, DID have some really interesting beernerd beers innit. Luckily i can't really drink "good" beer in the summertime anyhow. It is just too much. Old man beers are the only way.

I like an old man beer on a hot day. just works so well. I remember my dad giving me sips of Schaefer when I was a kid. That shit was some OldManBeer.

I also wanted to say HI GUISE! I was on vacation, although that sounds like fun and my vacation was not so much that, it was pretty much tear down wall, move it, install exhuast fan in retarded hot attic, make wall, insulation, etc.. I did manage to get out 2 days with my kids, one day to an amusement park which was a lot of fun with them. I am not an amusement park guy (sun, heat, BLARGH!)

Nice. Schaefer also has a fine Old Man Beer Graphic Design Aesthetic.

I actually acquired the Schlitz yesterday because i was putting the new range hood in, and not many things go with the completion of stupidly hot sheetmetal and ducting work, like proper old man beers do.

I had Pabst yesterday. Mainstream old man beer. :?

On the subject of ill aminals... the doggie upstairs is very old. We heard a lot of banging and then some screaming from the landlady's daughter... the little doggie fell down the stairs! I hope she's okay, or at least isn't suffering.

Old man beer kind of implies mainstreamness. It just happens that in my region there are like multidozens of them available. It truly is a golden cradle of old man beer availability here. New York was pretty great for it too when i lived in the city. NYC gets what i get here, plus some of the oldmannish stuff from like PA and whatnot, which don't have enough distro to make it out here to burlington.

PBR is actually a pretty solid choice. The hipsters weren't wrong about that. Dirt cheap, looks decent, tastes proper. :huzzah:

I kind of wish that Black Label was still available around here, even though as i recall it, it was actually NOT at all a decent beer. I just kind of want some because, that is actually what my great grandfather used to drink. Though honestly, he may not have had much of a sense of taste left anyhow after all of those years of painting cars with fifties-era(wildly inadequate) respiration equipment... Not really that that matters at all. Because we are talking Old Man Beer here.

Old Man Beer -

When i was a youngster my dad would buy this by the case ($8/case) at his auto body shop. Spent many a drunken times working on cars at that price.

Excellent oldmanbeer label design. :huzzah: That is what Budweiser would look like if their designers had any fucking clue whatsoever.
