Just spent another extended parent visit time. My dad for two weeks and then my mom even for a few days there. They haven't both been east at the same time in a fairly long stretch, maybe four or five years?

My (own, my actual dad can only drink wheat beers) oldman beer of choice was this one:



Which i applaud for its "Old M" badge of old mannishness.

It was an odd sort of time. Both of my parents bought cars. I had to drive one of them back here from NYC for them. It looks like i will be driving the other one of them seventeen hours to Illinois at some point.

On the upside, one of the cars is staying here so my dad will have solid transportation to work when he visits. Now he is doing some sort of time share thing where he technically works for a semi-local company, but most of the time works from IL. But he is here about a week out of every other month or so, and they don't want to drive the slowly-growing-towards-deathtrap-esque old subaru they have here anymore(it isn't technically or remotely road legal anyhow) so this was the cheaper long term course versus renting something for those visits. What it means for the present is that i have a fairly more decent car than i deserve here with which to acquire groceries and whatnot. The old Subaru is definitely more like what i should expect. The new(-er) MINI is a bit on the too-nice-for-chris side of things.

But yeah, Part Two of their shoppings means that it looks like i will be driving another newer Subaru from here to IL for my mother sometime in the future, assuming the rest of that transaction goes properly. So it looks like, sometime in the relative near future, i will be passing roughly through Snaxoland on my westerly way. I don't know how soon this will happen. In the meantime, i think my driveway here is going to look (even more) like a used car lot.

Also, with the regular Dadvisits, my sleep schedule has been very strangely fuckered/normal-like. Normal People style sleeps for a week or two followed by a couple/few weeks of drift almostback to Chrisnormal, then another visit resets it to Normal People Style. It is very strange for me to be spending so long not sleeping right / not being awake in the finest/dark times.

Went down to the basement fridge to get some foodstuffs and noticed that the motor died. The last time someone used it was a few days ago so EVERYTHING was ruined. All the food was room temperature.



That's the freezer. I did not enjoy cleaning that shit up. The chicken bag had leaked the chicken juice everywhere. That bag of raviolis had almost dissolved entirely inside. A stick of butter fell onto the floor and splattered everywhere. And oh god that smell .

The worst part of moving is finding a new drug dealer.

Yep. I got lucky when I was in Whistler, bought a grinder and the guy basically offered to sell me the necessary stuff to fill it with as well

My bartender lady is awesome.

That does sound a bit awkward. Due to a lack of regulation and oversight in production and distribution, quality is definitely an issue.

On another note...I think there's something virusy going on at HC. My browser came up with the "warning" page thing when I tried to load it.

Hmm, yarr, HC is showing up blocked/warning here too. That happens somewhat often with some of the paid advertisement banners, depending on what kind of server the images/ads are coming from.

Alternately, the website may simply have, as some of us have suspected for years, AIDS.

Not HIV, but full-blown AIDS.

That's why us slumlords get no virus'. No-one wants to come here and hang with us heathens. No need to advertise....

They don't know what they're missing. Except maybe the ol' AIDS.
