Cool Fucking Shit: Diamond Anvil Cell. Extreme metal song title? You can smash xenon into a metal with the thing, which is about as extreme a metal (and potential energy storage substance? from a little bit of further reading) as one could ask for.

Where the hell are they that that thing just rolled in and all those dudes in hard hats are brandishing it?

I know the thing is quite real (and shiny) and responsible for a lot of sea serpent sightings over the years, because it looks like a sea monster (even if it is completely harmless) but it's not every day one just turns up.

That's awesome. I was thinking about putting a few up in The Snaxodrome's building later before rehearsal. Some parts of some floors have businesses on them.

I got properly fuckered up the eve of the funeral. My lady's cousin is one of my best friends, and it was his dad who died. He was about as good a father as I've ever met. Kids (yea in their 30's) are devastated as well as his grandkids. So when I got up to my friends house he was drinking, so I joined him. I think that is the proper manly thing to do to bond. Just drink it out. We all went out for lunch the next day and I had 1 thin slice of honey dew melon and nothing else. There was no way anything was going to stay down. by evening we decided to "hair of the dog" it. Felt much better after a few. sp spent 2 days driving, 1 day hungover/funeralling.

Awesome time was had. Not.

Back in the good ol' days, when black people were property, women were property, Jews were bankers, doctors and jewelers, gay people didn't exist yet, and Jesus rode a triceratops with a big ol' flag (the flag varies) uphill both ways to church on Sunday after conquering a chunk of Asia, which couldn't possibly contain impressive ancient civilizations.

Here is an apparatus from back in the day that remains somewhat more viable:

How sweet would it be if every other house had one of those in them instead of a normal old upright that so many musicians start out on as a first instrument? Imagine the kind of music all of those suburban singer-songwriter kids would be playing. It would be a pretty fantastic type.

Also, RE: work safety type signs, the kids(err, my older sister and her husband) have been keeping the IT HAS BEEN ___ DAYS SINCE OUR LAST TURKEY FIRE going since i made it like 2-3 thanksgivings ago. When i went there to pick up the MINI for my dad, it was IIRC well into the 800s, and assuming continuing safety, it should of course hit about 1080 this thanksgiving. I admire their persistence, and their dedication to kitchen safety particularly as it pertains to turkey disasters.

I actually might have to make some more magnetic numbers for it.
