I got my map serviced by the guy who also does Tony Iommi's Laneys, it sounds amazing with new valves and whatever the fuck else he did with it

I need to get my Charvel setup and restrung. I would just restring it myself, but I think the bridge needs fucking with and I am not going to even start on that thing. I also think it needs some chunkier and as-hot-or-maybe-a-bit-hotter pickups. The neck single especially is really frail and bright sounding, it actually sounds more like a strat bridge pickup then a neck. I think I might throw a sc-size bucker in there to keep it hot but get strattier-tones if I split it. No idea what to do for the bridge pickup, but something around the same output with a bit more bottom would be nice. The Tron and AC-15 are both bright amps, and the bright pickups in a small and light body is just a bit overkill on the high end.

The chriggitychronass bud I have in my possession is slowly destroying me inside. Part of me is like, "LES SMOKE DIZ SHIT". The other half is Indiana Jones, and he's saying, "THIS BELONGS IN A MUSEUM!

If I were to use one word to describe me today it would be gassy.

I made a rudimentary text-based adventure/puzzler game. Nothing fancy but I did code it entirely from scratch and it works.

It is kinda funny how quickly Guided By Voices have become a contender for one of my favorite bands, all my phases and their intensities taken into account. Shit has some timeless magic to it. Puts a grin on my stupid face every time.

Atleast now I can use my ribbon with as much phantom power on the Tascam as I wish. In related-ish news, my mics were kinda acting strange yesterday. Recorded my friend's band like I said, but shit get sideways quick and I ended up recording them with a single mic on guitar (990) on bass (PR40), a D112 in the kick and a PR40 on snare with the RSM-5 running as a quasi OH/room mic. My 2001s and the M179 were not catchin' nuffin'. The 990 on the same PP strip as the other 3 condensers was working, and was actually wildly loud and was just under control level-wise on the guitarist's Fender 1x12 combo with the mic gain completely cut. So that was my only condenser for the session. I have had one of the 2001s act weird like that before and then just suddenly work again. Shit is fucked up, man. It might be some bizarrely fucked up mic cable charade, which would be redonkulous.. Because half of those cables were like, ballsnew. Will have to narrow down which ones work and which don't with some testing today.

But! The jams sound pretty good. Wish I had a dedicated OH mic on there though, drums sound pretty distant. Will upload that shiz momentarily.

Like once I got all tripped out because my mics weren't doing what I thought they should be - turns out I hadn't engaged the phantom power properly, because my device can turn on or off the +48V on channels 1-4 and/or channels 5-8, that's it. I knew that already but just wasn't thinking clearly at the time.

Also sometimes a good old power down and then power up does wonders. Computers are marvelous at having things go wrong.

I think the cable that connects the laptop to the screen is fucked. If I open the screen more the 90 degrees the back lights just turns off. The screen itself still show what its supposed to show, but back light what so ever. The laptop is 6+ years old though, and its been a rough 6 years.

Why do I have to get insomnia/allergies the night I have to wake up at 5:30... (It's 1:30am local time)

On the positive side, I'm committed losing weight. I'm 5'8" and getting too close to 180. Insanity day 1 complete

Cam, if it's still not working right, I'd be inclined to pop the interface open and take a look. My Saffire Pro had an issue with the mic pre on channel 5. It produced horrible noise unless muted (not gain off- muted in the software control) and didn't pass signal. 6-8 worked just fine. I opened it up; there was a loose molex connector. I plugged it back in fully. It's worked fine ever since.

It's entirely possible you got a bunch from a run of bad cables. It's been known to happen. I got expensive Monsters with broken shields once.

It may just be a plain old bad connection, obviously and easily fixable. It may not. If the preamps are still passing signal with dynamic mics, use those channels for, well, dynamic mics until such time you can get the thing serviced or replaced.

I haven't even fuxxed with it, yesterday turned into a complete bust. Just recovered from another one these one day colds I have been fucking myself with. I will scream/sing/growl my shit into submission, and then commence to freely abuse marijuana and beer. Not a good idea. Feel pretty good today though, and my parents are leaving for a week and I got a big ol' jam room wiff some mics.. And I'm borrowing my homies PA while he borrows my Microkorg for the week. I am going to try to get a bunch of jams recorded over the week, shit could be fun.

Yargh, but my vaporizer is no longer. Getting a nice/proper one would be quite expensive.. Truth is I should really just taper down a lot on the bong action, typically I just smoke out of my pipe at home. I smoke a good amount, enough to keep my moderately high for pretty much the whole day with some holes of complete sobriety. But when I am around a bong I know I can get super lit, and then commence to ya know, get super lit. And after 4-5 hours, we have smoked 3 grams and you've sorta reached that stoned ceiling. YET, the blaze hungry young pothead still attempts to keep smoking to get more high, which is largely in futility and is just providing excess damage to my lungs. And if I am drunk, my ability to access how badly I am fucking up my lungs can be slightly impaired. Go fucking figure.

I probably should just drop some money on a decent vaporizer though.. They've got these super neat BHO (butane hash oil) portable deals, similar to those E-cigarettes, that work really well.. For a couple months. Both of my buddies' fried out and aren't getting replacements from the company. Kinda weak, but they are super cool while they last. Was really stoked on them, had every intention to buy one until the whole reliability thing came into play.
