Rats are pretty smart. You should know from the domestic versions. Mice are pretty dumb and relatively easy to kill off. Rats, being much bigger and with more powerful teefs, will have an easier time breaking in and causing trouble.

If I needed to, say, poast an ad fer a bassist and 2nd guitar/synth operator for my non-Garda rockmaterial, is "post-punk indie rock" an appropriate descriptor? Fits as well as anything else, I suppose- it's definitely not traditional rock (despite the occasional shredly solo). Would that make sense to Kids These Days?

Always list a few bands with whatever descriptor as reference points. Some folks have some fucked-up ideas of what sounds are what types of sounds. :idk:

I usually find the list of bands/influences to be a much better descriptor than anything else folks use.

I remember from my metallurgical days listing loooong lists of bands American audiences were mostly unfamiliar with (most of whom were on Century Media or Nuclear Blast, with the odd Earache or Relapse band), so if you knew who they were, you were cool.

Re: genre flavour- I at least need something for a CL ad title. Noisy rock with alternately poppy or weird vocals, occasional forays into droney sadness, plenty of keyboards and the occasional drum machine is a bit long. Accurate, but long. But yeah, it's vague- it could very well mean, say, The Killers or Interpol, when my noise is a bit on the ballsier side, with generally gloomier glooms. I suppose I could throw in a fucked-up one or two to see how people react- say, Opeth and Lady Gaga (because my drummer is a bit of a fanboi) which aren't technically untrue, but are way off-base from the actual sound being generated, mostly.

I'd forgotten about the McClusky records- I'd been meaning to spend some time with those, but I've just lately been getting back into the rocklistening after spending a goodly amount of time with mostly jazz and electronic sounds. That also reminds me I have no idea where my copy of Spiderland wandered off to. I'll be seeing my friend who I attended Future Of The Left with again on Friday, so I'll ask her what she thinks of the records now. (And her take on the Garda EP as well, as she has that too.) We'll be seeing a random indie band I've never heard of. I don't care; it's an excuse to go out and geek out with someone equally musicnerdy- she sees on average two or three shows a week, has as broad a listening palette as anyone here, tears it the fuck up on piano, and drinks the good whiskey all night. (Even if she does bum my cloves. To be fair, I offer them freely.) My kinda going-out-companioness.

Tell ya what though, this dude's gotta lot of nice pieces, but he takes bitch ass dabs for a youtube video. :red: That is a respectable dab, but it ain't a fat one. The other thing you can do, is blap your wax with flame real quick and dip your dab in some kief and then dab the fucker. Now that my friends have our own dab setup, I almost dab as much as I smoke bud. Does gnar shit to your tolerance. Shit's rated at 90-95% THC content.

AH! And man, bought the most awesome stuff the other day. They had some Violator Kush that had been tested and whatnot with all the THC, CBD, CBN, etc. levels and all that super dope. Fuggin' 21% THC! I mean, looking at it I knew it was dank, but I normally don't fuxx with indica strains unless they are purple for the pure novelty and corresponding grape taste (which this VK does not possess), but it's too dank/interesting to pass up. The CBD levels (pain relieving/muscle relaxing agent in marijuana) rated at a fuckin' .5 as well, which is pretty damn high and not anything like I'd smoke. Definitely "med bud" type qualities to it, fun and a little different to smoke and nice to go to bed with. Kinda makes me want to take a nap even if it's not that late though. I'm a sativa type myself, mostly stick to this Jack The Ripper I bought at the same time. Got 4 grams of the JTR and 4 of the Violator, the latter will probably be around for a decent amount of time. It is kinda nice having access to what is probably some of the best marijuana you can find in Washington state.

I've gotten some medical grade shit out of WA over here before. More of a body buzz than the normal dirt weed I usually get from the locals. Took wayyyy less to get a good high too. Shame I can't afford that shit anymore.

The weird camera angle certainly doesn't help either.

I was going to add points for mindless destruction (oh yeah forgot to mention Space is fire) of turrets but then I thought to myself "fuck it." I built the game more as an exercise to test my new Engine design and it worked, so that is when my giving-a-damn stopped.

Now I am working on an Isometric 2.5d RPG. I just finished scripting the camera and basic character movement controller. Nothing mindblowing yet, but a pretty good start to a huge project. Prototyping in a 3d simulation is pretty fun stuff.

Also, I will probably remake the game with a proper Top Down angle, kill the 3d movement shenanigans and make a real 2d hell-shooter out of it.

I'd check out that game, but this netbook does not have a functioning mouse.

I'm alt+tabbing and using MouseGrid to turn my number keys into ways to move the mouse cursor.

I just had a very strange encounter with a Spanish-speaking drug dealer who tried to sell me what I think was heroin, started cussing out this old hispanic lady (that, I know enough Spanish to get the gist of) and then dragged me to a Burger King a few feet away where I explained to the Spanish-speaking clerk that I do not speak Spanish and can not translate something or other and do not have a telephone on my person. The smack dealer guy seemed cool with that and I have no clue what the hell was going on. That was, kind of weird.
