Innerestin'. I've never got on with ribbons for vocals just 'cause I like brighter vocal sounds. I wonder what it thinks of speaker cabinets?

Is there control software for the interface? 'Cause you might be able to tweak the headphone level from there- my Focusrite has pad, level dim and output volume controls for all the outputs, including both headphone amps, and it's entirely possible there's a setting to give the 'phones more juice. That being said, interface headphone amps have never impressed me. I always use something else at home. I found my Presonus HP4 on Craigslist for forty bucks and am running off one of the output pairs on the interface- way more clean and very quiet gain than I need. Sturdy built quality, too- it's quite a solid little guy with a thick metal case and metal knobs. Four outs in 1/3 rackspace. A solid piece for cheap. Also, wider soundstage than the interface amp, too- I route all my audio through my interface/headphone amp/monitors, and it's a nice system to just listen on.
