Yeah, there's no way to really store them, is there? That is, I suppose, what a proper solar panel or forty is for. Without that, I suppose you'll have to content yourself with a fire in a 55-gallon drum at night.

Yarr, i forget where i originally saw it, but there was a video with the guys behind the project somewhere(this was a while ago) and they were basically just talking about how in these places with no electricity, or also with limited electricity or electricity that has to be heavily rationed, what they really run into as problems is just how dark all of the houses and markets have to be during the day. It was some non-profit or something that was training crews and sending them out to install these bottles all over the place to punk rock the solution up. Totally my type of hack, really.

It's a great idea. It's dirt cheap, it's durable, and apparently it functions well enough.

And I'm pleased to hear it's a nonprofit doing this and not, say, Monsanto finding a way to sell empty 2-liters to the third world.

yar I would keep a flock of Eagles around the house for any stray goats, but, my kids like goats. I believe they are in league with satan. I can't destroy their dreams to have a goat. yet.

My daughter did say I was ruining her life last night for taking away her computer access for the night. I told her I would ruin her life much worse in times to come. It seems she has the bitchiness of her mom compacted into a smaller frame.

Yeah Babs and I are not looking to have kids for a long while. We will be the cool American Aunt and Uncle for a while before bringing our large-nosed spawn into the world.

My oldest niece is graduating high school early this semester. Of course she plays the viola and the piano (obviously ) and... Well, let's not talk about how we get on or don't get on with my sister and her stepfather... F'n'a, she's a straight-A student and lives with my folks; her parents are school administrators of all things, but I digresss...
