Im actually starting to move away from the heavily accented lead hand on blasts. It is starting to seem less brutal. It sounds slower since you are accenting quarters, and less direct since in this fashion the lead hand tends to hover around the kick drum instead of landing dead on it. The accenting will never quite leave my muscle memory but lately I've really upped the violence on my blasts by truly treating both hands as halves of one single stroke roll, more of a Kai Hahto sound.

Firefox, Chrome and Safari seem to be making shit a lot easier. The new IE9 actually isn't so bad as far as the whole standardized features thing goes.

Opera is ok but it seriously does it's own thing half the time, and IE just sucks.

I didn't even know Intarnet Exploder was still around.

I suppose nothing you're coding is supported if I wanted to use, say, Netscape or Mosaic? (Though finding machines to run them on might be a chore...)

Just had an oddly revelation-ish convo wiff my pa. Was kinda gnar and good, yet it was brought on by me being an irresponsible, sketchy fuckhead. With extended cat nap considered, this has been a weird fucking day, man.

Continuing to forge ahead in my battle against conventionally good sounding music. Figured out a tracklist I am happy with (AND!) decided to go 10" vinyl because I feel less like I am betraying the varied sound of the band with just 4 or 5 songs. It is instead 8 songs, and 6 of them are done on my part, they just need the extra fun goodies here and there. The other two are two be tracked in the next few days or so by Landon and I. After that, I have pretty much another 10" or 12" in various stages of writing or recording to finish before I leave for Alaska 2012 Round 2: The Big One. Lots of 75% done songs that are just.. waiting. I like the idea of doing the DIY vinyl sleeves/distribution to keep myself busy a lot. It is kinda fucked up being this productive, even if I am still far more stoned than anyone should be. I am trying to cut back a bit nao, as I am entering truly sketch territory again, even if it isn't being accompanied by the same degree of depression/stagnancy as before. But for right now, I think I am going to just going to do a couple dabs..

Shit is usually a vocal phenomena deal for me like Eric said as well, this is actually a fairly odd thing for me. I am usually pretty good about committing to riffs/finding variations I like. I think I just like the main riff, though not as much as I maybe did? It is a cool 3/4 GBV/old MM stupid simple slow indie thing. Just don't think I like the "chorus" which feels much more like a bridge or verse-y type thing, in that, it is not really loud or containing much climactic harmonic content. Shit was just bizarre, being so enthusiastic one moment and hating it the next.

Maybe I should listen to the thing.

Guitars for the new Garda stuff are finally complete. (Well, unless I decide to do the odd overdub, which I may.)

I suppose I can get on with mixing the stuff then. I should probably do the for-real mixes in Protools, as that's what we have to work with at ze big studio, where we will track the vocals. Plus it's good practice; I really should know my way around PT better, though I honestly prefer Logic for a lot of things. PT is quite convenient as a pure mix platform though. I am not so enamoured of it as a writing tool. Or, frankly, an editing one- I think Logic beats it in that department quite soundly. Nuendo is just an ugly stepsister that runs on Windows.
