Which clubs do you go to? Usually when I get shitfaced in the city it's around the West 4th area. Haven't been out drinking in a little while though. I try to avoid clubs in general though since I'm not a fan of dancing.

I feel like this is the most hated answer in America.

"Come on, let's go out tonight! We can go to Fusion!"
"Yeah, I don't really like dancing.."

Hotel Chantelle last Saturday but I frequent the following few during the week - Katra, Le Souk, The Delancey, (the now defunct White Noise), Yotel, Pyramid Club, Bowery Poetry Club and Le Poisson Rouge

I like to go out : (

mostly goth and club kid hangout places.

btw, finished a new song, mixed using headphones only so it sounds good only with headphones.

The arpeggiator type deal around 1:20ish is a sound I am really into. :isay: It brings to mind a Daft Punk-y sort of vibe to my brain.

The vocals in the intro make me think of Delerium. I heart Delerium sooooo much, but you know that. The wacky compressorstuff going on around 2:30 give-or-take is fucking awesome.

That's the sort of thing that makes me wish I had more money so we could just hang out for a weekend and make an obnoxious amount of noise, y'know?

That's easy. It's all about who you know. You know the bartenders, management, promoters and scenepeople who are free spenders? People pay you to drink their booze, basically. Even in much less cool cities. Afterhours? Back rooms? Other intoxicants if those are your bag? If you must pay something at the bar to keep up appearances, it's a nominal price for top shelf.

I suppose it helps to be in a known band, but it's not necessary, just useful re: knowing people. Attitude helps. Witty banter, a real sense of style, tip the ones you don't know generously. Act like you're supposed to be there even if you're not, but don't be a dick about it. Image really is everything here- of course you're someone. They might not know it yet, but the impression helps. See above; you're not frontin' so badly if you know people even if it's not your regular place. I'm a giant nerd IRL, but I could get loaded on someone else's dime pretty easily playing the rockstar role.

damn, nice to see you in here. Not in a spot where I can listen but I will.

Me in brief: in pop/dance cover band playing a lot in NY, Conn, Mass, VT, in big GnR tribute playing NY, NJ, Oh, Penn, Mass, hell anywhere.. were asked to go to India....

Why did I not hear of this band appearing in MA? I would've checked that shit out. Unless it was in Boston or one of the surrounding cities that are essentially still Boston.

OH we just got booked for the return to the big Philly show we did last year, and up to Mohegan Sun which was 5k in attendance.

...and hey, you still have killer tone. :dildo:

There is a time and a place for   drunk girls wearing nothing songs. If all I listened to was the heavy serious stuff I mentioned in the Russian Circles thread, I would be One Dreary Bastard. I love my art-prog-noise, but I love to go clubbing and dance like a fool too.

Which reminds me: when I saw Future Of The Left a while back- a good number of dancing girls in that crowd. Not a headbanging sausage fest at all, despite the band's sonic weight and violence.

polar opposites my two bands, almost. I guess if I was in a Rush tribute instead of GnR it would be more sausage fest vs. panties coming off crowd. The GnR crowd does get a lot of women, but generally 30+ whereas the dancey is 19-30. I have no problem with either.

I like the vocalish vocodery thing at 2:22ish. Like a robot cannibal incantation chant.
