Re: What i have been doing today...
And I've just finished up recapping a '74 Laney Klipp 100 Before: One of the filters has even fell off! After: It sounds fucking amazing with my strat. Cleans are awesome and adding a bit of the klipp channel to it adds just the right dirt. Every studio should have one. Can't wait to twat it hard with a fuzz!

The black board is hott in that. Also: The Device Is Much Less Terrifying Once Adjusted Correctly And Calibrated.

Re: What i have been doing today...
The device needs some snazzy plexi glass guards so appendages and limbs stay in place.
Next job: recap a Roost SR100. Not as straight forward as I'd like as it uses 45mm cap cans and you just can't get them that big. I fear a small internal board is the way to go.

Re: What i have been doing today...
Imma make the guards out of sheet metal i think. I like the general idea of plexi but i don't trust it really, having seen how easily it shatters. No way i can afford the proper shatterproof Lexan stuff.

Re: What i have been doing today...
Only time I've ever heard one live IIRC was one of the guys from High On Fire had it in his wall o' doom. So not really a good representation. I will take your word on its awesomeness. Also, I have never heard "twat" used as a verb before.

Re: What i have been doing today...
They do that sound well too. If you like loud clean amps with dirt pedals they are great, as are most laneys. It's common parlance in my part of the world Usually used in the context of hitting something. Getting twatted would be to be on the receiving end of a twatting. It can also mean to get steaming drunk. Tonight I am going to get twatted on strong Polish lager in a quaint seaside town full of goths. Impress your friends with your new found misapplication of swearing. This week I have mainly been childish with shit off and husky fuck.

Re: What i have been doing today...
So far, making belt guards is proving to be about as dangerous as, if not slightly more so than, running The Device without belt guards. Street signs are probably slightly too thick material for what i have around here for metalcutting and bending facilities.

Re: What i have been doing today...
How did you acquire the street signs, if I may ask? Sometimes they really are just lying about for the taking. We have a Fallout Shelter sign in the center of the mantle, and somewhere in my 'rents basement is DANGER MINES though that was legitimately purchased from a surplus store. BRIDGE OUT would be a quality one to have. I have heard the signs for Dildo, Newfoundland and Fucking, Austria are stolen on a regular basis. I haven't the faintest idea why. On an unrelated note, have you done anything with your $5 Metal Zone yet? Just curious.

Re: What i have been doing today...
The metalzone, not as yet. It arrived as i was locked in heated battle with the Shopsmith. Once i finish covering the belts, i will take a couple days for my hands to heal(i amusingly cut every single one of my fingers, except for my thumbs and my right hand index finger, doing various different things with sheetmetal, a couple of them pretty good ones ) and then, probably start by seeing if i can get the thing to work as a metalzone, then see if i can get it to do something odd or otherwise non-metalzoneish. The signs, i do not really recall how they came to be acquired. I have never taken one down, so they must have been snowplow/accident fatalities that were adopted. They have been here for many years. One of them seems to have come from the area in boston that i went to school. In a bout of mild paranioa and less mild overcaffienation, i did remove most of the images from them. They were all boring signs, once way, do not enter, H. It just randomly occurred to me that it is probably at least a fine to have such things should a policecop ever find himself with reason to be hanging around in my basement. Two of them were way too big to hang on any interior wall in this house anyhow. I just need raw materials, and surely, though i do not remember acquiring them, this was my original intent in their adoption anyhow. My only (vaguely) interesting sign is the evidently hand stenciled wooden OXYGEN NO SMOKING one in my room. I am a huge fan of the DANGER MINES sign concept, as i think i must have mentioned before. Said signage also making, in my opinion, a pretty solid band name.

Re: What i have been doing today...
This is actually, what i was doing yesterday. But anyhow, upon becoming fully conscious at the non-typical hour of about 6AM, i also became possessed with a conviction that pizza should be made. So that quite logically following as it turns, also that a pizza peel should be manufactured as well to facilitate said pizza production. And so, to the soundtrack of the sounds deposited into the Your Songs For The Day thread, i did the following(otherwise quietly, with all hand tools owing to the early sunday morning nature of my manufacturings) : And so it came to pass that additionally the following could then be more conveniently manufactured: That is my story.

Oh, you mean the wooden plank device for putting the pizza in and out of the oven. Aye, aye... Pretty slow today. Finally got to sleep in as much as I'd like to, and it was good.

Re: What i have been doing today...
Aye, its proper name is a pizza peel. Sorry, i didna knw if that is widely known or not. In the olde dayes i was once the king of a pizza place, so i just know it by its given name. This is actually the first actually fromscratch pizza i have made since my pizza king days, so anti-that was i in the wake of leaving that job.

Re: What i have been doing today...
That looks delicious, especially as I am a fan of the thicker crust. I did not know that device had a name, and now I do. And that is also a fucklot of wood chips/shavings. What do you do with them all?

Re: What i have been doing today...
The nice curlies from woodplanes, i actually save in a big-ass bag for starting grillfires wif in the summertime. Myself, i prefer a east coasty crispy-on-the-outside-chewy-on-the-inside thin crust pizza, though with a little more bulk on the crust end. First test of this dough, the texture is right, but it isn't stretching out quite correctly, and i am prolly using slightly too much dough per. So it looks a bit overinflated to me. Kind of delicious still, just more like a nice bread with sauce and cheese on it, than what i personally would aim for in a Proper Pizza. There is nothing healthy about it at all, but i could probably, constitutionally, eat pizza every other day and never complain.
