Huh. I didn't know Dave Lombardo did some records with John Zorn 'til I looked a thing up. I would like to hear these.

Today while I was picking up some lunch I saw a Juggalo. I am disappointed to learn that we have those over here.

I feel bad for you, son. I have 99 problems but Juggalos ain't one.

I've seen them around here occasionally, but I figure they are a relic population as this place is about a decade behind the times. More than, in some situations. It's been a few years since I've seen giant '90s pants- which is somewhat surprising, but I suppose they're picking up on the 2000s here now. (Which, for the record, I never wore. I was girlpants and combat boots back then in the '90s. Old-school goth, you see. :red: )

Managed some sweet geetar tones today, which is upsetting because the playing is so meh. :red: But I am starting to get a hang of micing in this room, and I think I prefer the sound of the 2x10 to the Greenie in the combo by a good deal. Maybe it is just the way I am recording the thing, but I am not so sure. It is much easier for me to capture a good sound with the 2x10 consistently, it has seemed.

Interesting how these things work. You should get your hands on a Blue or a Weber Blue Dog and see how you like that with the Vox. Even though the Greenie is a classic speaker and Of Known Awesomeness with the ACs, the Blue... It's is own thing. Chris From Garda says my Stephanie loses something with a Greenback in there vs. two Blues. Chris also has that fucking awesome cab with two 50w Weber Blue Dogs and two Silver Bells (their vintage Fender speaker clones). That's like the best of all possible cabs.

Also, my housemate and I are assholes. We've been bitching about our upstairs neighbors lately, and they have an enormous dog that craps all over the yard- which is quite large for a city property; we're on what's essentially two lots. And they don't pick up after said creature. Apparently, one can keep five chickens without a city permit. We also discussed the possibility of a sheep. Perhaps a goat or a pig. We don't have enough room for a cow or donkey, alas.

Fucking A. They actually quoted my drummer on that and put the umlauts in the article besides! I fuckin' loved that place, as nasty as it was. It was a truly great venue. Everything said is entirely true, by the by. All the people were really chill, there were no fights, it was shockingly rather mellow, much more so than Normal People Bars in the area. No Bros and D-Bags. People would go there and listen to music and get wasted and then go home. Upstairs was a gothy dance club, downstairs was rock-and-roll, straight up.

As an aside, my dad played there back in the '60s before he moved to Iceland (he played drums, Beatles and Stones tunes) and asked me in the '90s if it was still around. My answer was "yeah; it's a little different now". :red: In the '70s, it was a gay bar.

Oh, and my best friend's ex has the PA system in his attic. She took the last of the wine and we drank it all years ago. This is Buffalo.

Yeah, I'm quoting someone quoting me. Still, that, I think, is a good one.

Post Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
This week has been a hell of an ordeal. 95% due to our robot creation. Fucking every night basically, we are working on it. Wednesday night I spent the night at one of our group member's houses to finish an aspect of the construction (a drawer packed full of electronic fuckery): crashed in his shed full of old pizza boxes, empty beer bottles and loaded ashtrays, only to wake up the next day and do it some more from that morning until ten pm, then go home.
Some combination of the stress and allergies to my deodorant and our little dog (the dog and deodorant are constants in my life, but I suppose stretching myself thin lately made my body decide to react) has caused me to break out in random places with itchy hives. Presently I have them on my lower cheek, so it looks like I have something infectious/sexual transmitted. The two head professors of my program asked me what the hell was going on with me and I was all like "...I'm having an allergic reaction... :?"
We submitted the prototype today, that was the cause for all this stress. It went over well I think.

Now I am giving no fucks at all and just kicking back. It's my goddamn birthday and I don't give a fuck about ANYTHING right now. I just blasted my drums for like two hours and I feel waaay better now, even if I still look like I have the herp.

Ah, the cover band route. I've recently been informed of an Iron Maiden tribute band looking for a vocalist sorta-nearish here. I may try that out for the fuck of it.

Thank you, New York State, for not :dildo: -ing me in the bum. You are funny-shaped, what with being a large landmass and all, and I am thus not attracted to you and would be peeved were you to do such a thing. :mexican:

I don't think this coat will ever not smell like the almost-empty pack of cloves I left in there several months ago.

Playing a real show, at a real huge theatre venue, with real soundpersons, and a monitor mix that doesn't suck, and monitors for the drummer, and DI boxes that work, and no technical issues... Fuck. That, is awesome. It's like being in a real band. I'd do that every day and twice on Sunday. We got invited back for the next one, with the promise of a better time slot.

Said band is what it is though, so our drummer and I are auditioning folks the next week or two for Our Thing. We'll see how this goes. I am willing to play bass if necessary.

That sound like it would be fun. You more Dickinson sounding or Di'Anno? I believe I've only heard your Karaoke.

BTW, we will be up in Boston Proper 4/20. It IS the dancey pop band though...
