I dig this as well. BTW, I saw my violin player the other day in person and need to get back to her. She's still down with it. I've been sicker than all hell though and have quarantined myself.

Upon further investigation: Andrew Nyte had a song favorited by someone I know, I checked his page and "liked" a song as well. That'd be why, I suppose.

How are you doing the electrodrums? It sounds like you're looping stuff there, which I don't think I've heard you do before. I like the guitars-as-percussion.

But then again, you might not be looping things either, it just sorta sounds like it.

The electronic/industrial influences on your stuff are interesting. :snax:

The drums/guitar are actually just me playing my unplugged electric into my laptop microphone and hitting that with the Apple distortion plugin I keep mentioning, I am really fond of what it can do to things. I am going to try to keep pushing it in that direction though, for sure. With the sort of weird, mangled dance sounds that is.

No looping, though I did originally intend to do this and probably will for a more consistent "synth" sound.

Yeah, I couldn't really tell- you played it tight enough I thought it could be a loop, but I wasn't entirely sure in parts or figured you just changed it up.

I should try that plugin, 'cause it just sits there and I've never used it. A hidden gem, perhaps. I have so much shit I never even thought of it, but some of the stock Logic plugins I do use for various porpoises, and they stash the Garageband ones in there too. Apple got the guys from Opcode (RIP  ) and Emagic to write all their shit. Space Designer, Delay Designer, Amp Designer, Pedalboard, the stock Logic compressor, EVOC 20, Ultrabeat, ESX 24, etc. all kick huge amounts of ass for various things- and they're free with the damn program! Not that I don't have fave-o-rites from Waves, Soundtoys, Softube, Native Instruments and Plugin Alliance (and that's outside of the instrument plugs). But the Logic Pro suite kicks everything into next year as far as what's included. This is useful stuff, all of it, and has wound up on many a top 40 track; it's quite funny. And I've used Nuendo as bandmates have it, and I have Pro Tools 9 (impossible to pirate AFAIK, for whomever's reading this.) to do stuff I have to transfer. Logic's a better editing platform than PT, and Nuendo's routing is wonky as shit, and I hate working on PCs for stability reasons.

But I digress. I love the fact you're working with stuff that's like, no-fi, and you get killer toans when you throw up the good mics. Quality work all around. :isay:

Yeah man, you really should look into the thing. :huzzah: It has many knobbers and whatnot, really good for mangling shit.

And thank ya. :huzzah:

A whole bunch of oldish (being 2-3 year old) ideas are finally coming to fruition alongside new ones in these weird songwriting demos I have been doing.

More old meeting new stuff: happy poppy thing was written in NC, most rest of the stuff I wrote in Alaska a couple summers ago.

Yr welcome. I will put the new stuff on the monitaurs when it's not midnight to give it a proper listen.

I like mangling shit. It's one of the reasons I want a setup with a proper board again- easy to patch in some random hardware destructive device to wreck shit utterly. Lead vocal, meet Geiger Counter... :dukes:

I imagine the Geiger Counter would be properly gnar for those purposes. This Apple thing has got a ring mod and a delay in it, so I imagine you could really get it to do some fucked stuff, but I haven't bothered with it a bunch for those purposes yet.
