I dunno what the insides of that melissa and doug one are like. The kind i am thinking of from my yout, is basically just like a normal people piano on the inside, but tinier. I know what i would try to do with one, but what you get might dictate what you can do with it. That said, a wee little toy piano might be an interesting thing to have around in general, even if you couldn't get it to do a harpsichord impression.

The trick, IMO, is to find a good one that can kind of be tuned, and that you can access the strings and hammers of without destroying it. Actually, in toy pianos, prolly the finest one available, would be the one you would want to mess with. Though, even a fucked up cheap one might do something interesting...

Sucks man. If anything, having the sinus shit going on can also just fuck up your perception of how shit is going down around you. Hard to see the upside of shit when your skull is feeling headache split. I tend to get real cranky real quick, when i am in that state.

Do you get allergies this time of year? That can mess my spaces up pretty well. I am more of a autumn allergy type though. So far anyhow, spring doesn't fuck with me like that.

Yesterday I decided my band should demo our new stuff so we can edit the tracks down to record properly. Today I have everything together that I need. Tomorrow we record.

Forgot to tell you dudes, so it is not new to me, but I bought an 80's 16" Zildjian Medium Crash a couple weeks ago. The Sabian Thin Crash I had finally cracked to completion (bought it like that with a cracked B8 ride for $80, rock the ride most the time) and just sounds like dicks. It was a real good sounding cymbal even while the cracking was pretty gnarly, but it has now completely compromised the resonance. This new one sounds real nice though. Not too loud of a cymbal, definitely quieter than my Vault by a decent amount. Sounds really nice though, has a quick, washy sound. I was testing different cymbals at the store and that one was calling my name, snagged it for a hundo.

We started out as doom. Then dabbled in sludge. Then found our thrash roots and now we put them together as we see fit

Normally I don't get allergies, but a few years ago I got them, but the chick and my my boy were sick so I think it was some sort of sickness bug thing that was slow developing and attacked sinuses. Nanobot I'm sure. A bit clearer today. Work has been super highly stressfull as well, big project that has never been done and the boss put me in charge and said go for it. Great guy to work for, sometimes you stress more when you have a good boss so they stay a good boss. He is very happy with me as of today. Shit went down very well this week.

Looks like he/she would want $18.11 to ship it to me(i.e. what ebay's calculator defaults to) :idk: I suspect that you could do better going local(being that that is an auction; if it was BIN, $19 sounds reasonable(though $40 shipped might not)). Yardsales, pawnshops, thrift stores, that sort of biz. :idk:

Fuck me with a rental dick.

The amount of serious gear I've sold post-Halloween to pay the bills is... Well, from my perspective it's sad, in that I've depopulated my board and a fine amp besides.

Eventide Timefactor, EHX Cathedral, Pigtronix Mothership, WMD Geiger Counter, and Vox AC30 6/TBX all gone to pay to be alive. Fucking suxx, mann. And my own stupid fault, too, as they're all last-minute things. Outside of my ADAMs and the Strat I will die before I sell... Well, I have some mics and guitars and keyboards and things but goddamn. It really makes one think. I lusted after that shit. For a reason.

It's a dark place to be. But at the same time it's a Zen place to be.

They're just things.

They're just things.

They are just things. Give me a broke-ass old computer that's not worth a damn thing with no synth controller and I will still make Art with it because it is the noise in my brain. I can't help it. It's what I do. I will say with whatever you give me what I could never say with words.

welp my Vox amplug bass arrived faulty  It sounds great when it works but the headphone jack requires far too much fiddling to actually get it coming through both headphones without crackling and cutting out. Pretty cheaply made but for £35 I guess you can't expect too much. It will be going back and hopefully being replaced with one that works properly.

Sometimes, it just dawns on me how kickass of a band Black Sabbath instrumentally are and how much I really love Ozzy's vocals. I've just decided it is finally time to acquire those first four albums. :huzzah:

Not a fan of his solo stuff, but he works on those records. Granted, my mom could front that band and it would still be awesome. If you like the first four, the next two are still pretty good and have some awesome songs on them. And yes, they are fantastic instrumentally. Great rhythm section and great riffs. Watch the Classic Albums episode on Paranoid if you get the chance.

There are some surprises in those records if you're not familiar with them, too.

Post Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I just sung the lowest note I have ever hit- low Bb. I can't hit the A, really; it goes sharp. Checked it against a sine wave synth to make sure. What I will ever need basso profondo range for, I'm not sure. I am still too congested at the moment to hit anything higher than B above middle C decently, and that B is scratchy. Still, a usable range like that is still worth something. The high falsetto notes I can't hit at the moment are slightly less useless than the uberbass. How the powermetal d00ds hit those with any, well, power is beyond me, as well as the operad00ds with the lowbass (whom I think are probably just physically very large).

Voice is an interesting thing. I think in classical terms my tessiatura is that of a lyric baritone. I can't hit the low notes with a bass's power, likewise the high ones with a tenor's- not unless I'm singing the rawkmusics, and even then, a true tenor is a totally different animal- but they're there if I need them.

Actually voicepracticing has done wonders for my not sucking so much, and embiggened my range.

I can get on with this "no amps" thing. Not that I don't want amps, lots of them, but I can get by with not using them. I like actually hearing shit at rehearsal.
