Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
My older sister was here the last few days, and she just had to get this(i think mainly because it came in a box, a concept that she finds appealing in liquid drunkables) : I am stuck with what is left, because well, it isn't very delicious. I have had other Crispin stuff that was right swell, but this stuff is a different angle. Mainly, i think i disapprove of its noncarbonated nature. Then for sure, i disapprove of the fact that it basically just tastes like apple juice(which i don't particularly care for at all anyhow), but specifically like baaaaad apple juice. Like a Juicy Juice juicebox that has been sitting in the sun in the yard for two weeks. Just kind of nasty.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
Which, i should add, i was initially drawn to, mainly for the graphically spectacular can. But the style of beer, it turns out, is their version of a "Light Dinner Ale" or "Family Ale"(classy) which was a style evidently popular in England in the late 1800s. So it will go perfectly with my installing of the gigantic woodworking vise that arrived in the mail today. Also with the froe and drawknife that came with it.

Brooklyn make some really great beer. I love the Brooklyn Lager and will occasionally hit the Brooklyn double Chocolate Stout

Wunna these guys: And wunna these guys: It was nice to be able to find some Ninkasi stuff up here (my favorite brewery as it stands) though these are the only two I could find. They only come in 22 oz form too, which is kinda shitty. Would be nice to be able to find a six pack of Oatis or it's even better, though less common vanilla flavored brother.

A mixture(not, unfortunately, perhaps, all at the same time) of pabst, brooklyn summer ale, and angry orchard crisp apple, has gotten me to a rare (for me) state of: not really sober at all.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
Now that I have awaken from my beer sleep: I gotta say I am not big on that Guinness. It has a weird, sour sharpness to it that I am not big on. However, the Alaskan Winter winter I had was good as usual. The Alaskan Brewing company stuff is the best one can regularly find pretty much anywhere around here. Other than that, it is mostly just domestic lager stuff and meh-ish local brewery stuff I don't give a fuck about.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
If your Guinness had a weird sour sharpness to it, it may be that the shit had skunked? Usually i find that if Guinness has any fault, it is that it is excessively smooth and almost sweet.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
That is pretty damned possible, I think. Granted it was the "extra stout', but I am a porter/stout/IPA sort of dude, so I like my beers on the moar br00tz side. This was a pretty skunky flavor fo sho, definitely not sweet or smooth at all.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
A lot of this. It is sort of unfortunate how ineffective these sorts of deals are at making me drunk, most traditional/domestic style lagers like this tend to be that way, I should have known better. Good tasting beer though.

Re: The "What Are You Drinking?" Thread!
Two of the finer beers I have drank that I can think of: The Maiden The Shade was particularly delicious. It's a fairly fruity tasting (though decently stout, 6.8% ABV) IPA, really, really drinkable. The masking of the alcohol taste is particularly impressive if that is your bag. The hopsiness is still apparent, but the fruit flavors sweeten things up a good bit.
