Set scooped it does remind me a fair bit of me old GX130C.

I should run it with my DOD Super Stereo Chorus for the full 'high school metal band, 1994' effect.

I shall be going to see Protest The Hero, Tesseract and The Safety Fire all in one gig in February. I'm not sure my brain is gonna cope with that many odd time signatures

Also, I cannot get a decent and consistent sounding recorded bass tone for the life of me, it's really pissing me the fuck off  It may just have something to do with the fact that I'm not very good at bass though.

I enjoy that picture of townshend smashing the deer into his cabs, far too much.

I am starting to develop a pretty mean and explodey blastbeat. :huzzah: It is not a very precise thing, but it sounds pretty goddamned pissed. I think the velocity of the hitting might make up for the not 100% totally sync'd aspect of the handandfoot timing. I can't do it for extended periods like a DM or BM sort of guy, but it would do for a powerviolence band.

I suck at such things, but the Dr Who video game they built into Google today, is fucking awesome. Even though i didn't get very far into it before my badness at such things was exposed.

IMO, they should also leave the little daleks in the corner of the search page, all the damn time.

I am now a very firm believer in the importance of good tube preamps. Listening to tones I have got with and without the MPA is pretty interesting to listen to. There is some nice refinedbutrawness that it brings to the tone. IT BRINGS IT TO LIFE, BRO.

Good preamps Add A Thing, tubes or otherwise. Transformers are also your friend. See: Neve, API, Chandler, etc. Not a tube in sight, but awesome. Generally speaking things that add "mojo" want to be pushed a little. Or a lot. Especially on guitars. It's one of those "shityeah, that's That Sound" things. One can argue the minutiae of these things all day long, but my experiences tell me anything that plays nicely when yelled at loudly will do the trick- or some variation of the trick, at any rate. Not that one doesn't have favorites. And while they're not the first thing on the list of importance, they're a nice sonic icing on the cake.

Granted super-clean is also a valid flavor. See: Grace, Earthworks, etc. I don't think, had I access to those, they'd be my first choice for guitars though if I had something with the former flavor.

I now have a pirate ship drawn on my leg to go with the octopus :isay: Shading and colour will be finished in a few weeks time. Gonna go for a piratey themed half-sleeve eventually. Thinking maybe the next thing will be a bottle o'grog or a big old cutlass.

My grocery store has been selling ghost peppers.

Last weekend I made chili oil with three of them... it was normal hot. So I added the essences of eight more ghost peppers and two dozen thai chilis. Now it is hot.

So today I tried a different brand from the same grocery store, ate a whole pepper chopped up in my pasta. It was a nice hot, but it was not 'one million Scovilles' hot.

Now it sounds like I'm bragging about how hot I can have my food, and I kind of am, but more importantly I think they must have bred a safe version to sell to the masses.

Which grocery. I'm going to it and I'm going to spike everything i make with them so my room mates don't steal them. Also I can confirm your heat for you, because I'm pretty sure I'm a wuss for heat.

I wouldn't doubt it. I've certainly read/heard a lot more about them in the past couple years. There may very well be a watered-down version floating about.

You should wash it down with a shot of pepper spray, just to make sure.

A few friends of mine saw it in Toronto. I heard good things, and they'd seen NIN a few times. Apparently the current live version of Copy Of A with real drums is excellent. Pino Palladino is a bass monster, but we knew that. Also, black female backup singers. The visuals are apparently excellent. But not the show that's featured in this video:

Some things from HCAF just stay with you: I don't think I'll ever be able to disassociate imitation crab meat from stomping on model trains.
