Yeah I love it. And my friends live close enough if I get bored of my own company, so all round it's pretty good :isay: People keep asking me "don't you get lonely?" and all I'm thinking is "yeah, that's the point :red: "

Almost done with finals, and I have a co-op lined up to start between trimesters :huzzah:

Edit:

Request: I'm looking for some great classical organ music. I hate to use this as an example of what I'm looking for, but its the dark, evil, epic qualities that the Davy Jones Theme from Pirates of the Caribbean has.

Start at 0:30

Chris - The ditto is awesome, I have one. I think the digitech jam man has this little circuit that is supposed to sync your loops, other than that they are identical (aside from the digitech being a bit cheaper). I'm interested in giving the digitech a spin.

Also, went and played some bluegrass on the streets of Raleigh last night with Clint. Good times were had, and gave me an excuse to buy a cheap acoustic bass.

Relief. I thought I buggered up- by my standards, anyway- my test in my teaching course this semester. Seriously, I thought my writing was adequate-but-technical at best. Highest score in the class. I sorta wish this was like high school where my grades might be something worthy of note; instead, I'm just another overachieving, if superannuated asswhole with a 4.0 on track to grad school, eventually, and an academic career. I can deal with this.

To Dev: do you have a particular acoustic bass in mind? I'm assuming you mean acoustic bass guitar and not an upright bass. :hypno:

To Tony: How familiar are you with classical organ music? Bach's Toccata And Fugue in D Minor is sorta the gold standard for that kind of thing, but the intro might be too well-known to take seriously. Bach in general is probably the place to start for the organ; I like the G Minor Fugue as well.

The Digi has double the record time at 10 min.

And as you note, has the slicktrick of, if you own two(or more), it will synch them to loop in time together, which is fucking sweet.

It also has two ins and two outs for stereoness.

Lastly, it has three LEDs in the place of the one-for-all-functions of the ditto.

It is a little bit bigger though.

I was actually pretty happy to find the Ditto for less money than the Digitech goes for, it was only like $95 new.

I still haven't gotten much of a chance to play with it yet though, other than to just verify that it functions as expected. :idk:

I think it will be exactly what i need though.

I have a fucking military march stuck in my head, and I cannot for the life of me remember what. I think it's John Philip Sousa, but I'm not sure, and so far Youtube searches have turned up empty. The theme is famous enough, but I can't put a name to it.

My band (AKA Landon and I) played a show tonight and it went over really well. We are getting a lot better, that is for sure. I'm still not 100% comfortable a lot of the time but we've got it to the point where most people can't tell I'm fucking up at all. People seem to really dig us and it's nice to see. I was not sure how we would be received despite having a lot of faith in the songs.

We're playing again tomorrow in front of a much larger crowd, hardcore show. Should be interesting.

Got a pop filter. I don't even fucking want a pop filter. I don't need it. But after recording other singers enough times, and somehow no one seeming to be able to grasp the concept of "don't sing INTO the mic, sing NEXT TO it", i kind of give up. The pop filter is for them. I don't really like the general concept of folks spitting on/into my only LDC anyhow. Even if it is just an MXL2001.

It makes a fine thingie to attach baffles to, to kill mic bleed. So there's another use.

You know for the first time I tried doing that last night and there was a decrease in hi hat into snare, but not a game changing one. It did not make the 57 much more usable as a drum close mic than before. I think I'm done having 57s anywhere near the hi hat, forever and ever.

I got a Dean EAB. Its cheap and the loudest acoustic bass I could find. I would love a proper upright but we are a mobile band so it would be tough to carry about. Whenever I can spare $500 I will buy a cheapy upright from work.

Slight change of plan regarding my up coming amp build. A schematic for the Bogner snorkeler has surfaced which is 90% verified and that would be perfect for me new band! I'll probably add in an EF86 for a clan channel with a pentode/triode/ultra linear control. I may even drive the EF86 with an LND150 for a bit of grit.

I don't remember where I heard this, but I was under the impression that the famous Toccata and Fugue in D Minor was written in to check the tuning of the organs, thus the multitude of dissonant chords and arpeggios that wouldn't sound right if the organ wasn't in tuned properly. Overall it has some great parts, but it is not my favorite. I'm listening to whatever I can find from Bach now. I just learned that Bach's music is categorized BWV numbers according to style, which makes my search quite a bit easier. Gracias!

PS: Apart from knowing who Beethoven, Bach, Mozart and Tchaikovsky were, I don't really know much classical music at all.

Fun times were had. The Dean you bought works wonderfully for the street stuff, and with the electronics should be great for shows too. Uprights are damn sexy though.

Also this 23 pound banjo is a bitch and a half

Is that a proper 5 string banjo or one of the Banjitar things?

I have serious GAS for a single channel non-MV Class A 30 or 40 watt head to pair with a vertical 2x12. Something with a small headshell. I wonder what it would cost to get something like that made. :red: I love the AC15, but it doesn't get quite loud enough live without killing all of the headroom even with the 2x10. It's also a son a bitch to transport, to be honest. :red:

^That's kind of more what I was thinking. The Bad Cat stuff is sweet, and I assume the Ceriatone stuff is too. It's just that I want something stupid simple to use with pedals. I don't want channel switching or even a MV really. I really love this OD pedal I'm using and the way it sounds/responds, I just want something that sounds great clean and has enough power to get really loud without completely shitting itself, but edges into exploding amp territory when I really whack the hell out of the strings.

The Z Wreck and KT-45 look super interesting to me. It's just, they're incredibly expensive. :red:
