Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Alright Devin I tried the Fiesta and yeah, that is a fun little car to drive. It's quick to get going. I was all about the Kia I tried previously until I hit the gas pedal. What is with the Ford dashboard though? All those buttons and buttons and buttons... is that a phone dialer? Oh man!

No self respecting man drives a Kia. I have a Fiesta Zetec S and it's alright, comfy for my medium length commute and has a fairly decent stock sound system. Shit on petrol though. Looks nice enough for a hatchback, but I want to lower it and get my wheels powdercoated black

The dash is a bit odd. I mean, not necessarily a bunch more buttons than normal, but they are bigger and weirdly placed. The door lock button was the most jarring though.

Problem with the combo of never wearing them in the past, and not actually ever regularly having time to play the drums, is that whenever i play them, i fucking forget to use the ear plugs until afterwards, when i notice the ringing.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
On the upside of that, i did get to play my drums today for the first time in fucking months. Adjusted my kick damping with lots of felt stripping and really kind of tight heads now. Also lowered everything a lot. And went to a four piece. Now i am sitting kind of tall, but with cymbals and all pretty low. Playing with them really high didn't really seem to help on recording as much as i might have hoped anyhow, and besides, my right elbow doesn't seem to like being bent up enough to play the hats that high. Kind of a leftover echo of injury from that godamned fastband so long ago. Something tendon-y i think. Playing lower feels a lot better for the moment anyhow.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Hmm. Ditto looper is an interesting sort of toy. I have not been using it for like normal looping/layering at all. It is a fantastic way to play guitar while i am playing drums though. And it is nice to be able to have me, playing my guitar, the way i play it, playing something through my amp so i can mess with knobs without the necessary translation that happens trying to do so either while playing, or while someone else plays through it. The first thing i notice, is that my amp is actually pretty fucking loud. I can get away with a lot less crankedness than i thought, even with my fuckloud drums. And then, that it actually kind of sounds better if i don't wind it all the way up. At least, through this trash cab. It may just be that the shitspeakers can't deal with a bit too much, too much. Also, i think that my drumset sounds a little too nice for my tastes or something. There just seems to be a certain mismatch between what i am playing and how it is sounding. I wonder if i never should have learned to tune the drums, rather than learning pretty early in the process.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I was doing something close to that (a bit shorter at more like 8 at night tho) for the better part of this last month. I didn't have any weekends either, and boy does that mess one's shit up, with regards to normal human activities shit, like food shopping, or like doing laundry. The main thing i found helpful was to eat right even though i never felt like i had the energy to actually make food, not to drink too much(even by my normal low intake standards), and to go to sleep way too early. Mainly, that schedule starts to suck even worse, if you have to do it battling a cold or a hangover. Good luck Mr Knope.

Damn, that's a good idea. If I had a looper I'd totally try that. .gif)

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
On a change of direction, i think this is going to be my last summer with the pop band. My kids are wanting me around more and we do a lot of travelling. Matter of fact the band just did a week in Key West, and i didn't go. Its too hard to be away for 8 days from my kids and not make a ton of money. Money wasn't bad, but not enough to be away from my kids for that long. My daughter is old enough now to give me shit about being away so much. On that note, Chris if you are around the end of this month, I will be up in Boston the 28-29th. Would love to meet up and buy you dinner.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
This JCM sounds fucking amazing. I've never been more happy with my tone in my life. Also, thing is the perfect amount of loudness, I feel. It's got a V30 in it, so I am very curious what a speaker swap could yield.
With my OD pedal running completely balls out into it with it just edging into low-med gain territory and with aggressive playing it sounds gargantuan, yet very clear considering the character of the sound is almost reminiscent to an HM-2. I like the clean tones on the AC15 a bit more to be honest, but the overdrive sounds are significantly fatter.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I really want to try one of those Weber Legends with the giant 80 oz magnet.. It's probably way loud and clean, which is def what I am looking for considering how loud I am going to be running this amp live.

Hell yeah, brother. I am recording my friends' band tomorrow and they are using it, so I will be sure to share clips.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Love the Marshall dirt tone. Glad to hear you picked that up. And yeah, Marshall never had a great clean tone, usable, but not great, even the 6100's which had about the best Marshall clean are nothing like Vox or Fender cleans. Best Marshall clean is on a Bogner.
