In a new twist while I usually end up with assorted bruises and black eyes from training/fighting it seems the Little Martin acoustic in my car was unhappy with me, so while grabbing the case, the guitar slipped out and one of the tuning machines caught me just under the eye split it open and left a nice shiner. Fucking great weekend.

My previous landlady just tried to deduct 42% of my deposit for some serious bullshit reasons. However unfortunately for her she had failed to protect my deposit in a government backed scheme which is a legal requirement so I've got the full sum back. She's been sending me moral/spiritual threats all day by email as a result

Her: It appears that you are determined not to accept responsibility for what you know that you are rightly responsible for. You may have finally found a legal means of doing this but i can assure you that it does not release you from your moral obligation to pay for the damages that you caused at my property. You will definitely pay for this somewhere along the line.

Me: Please refund the deposit in full. Please don't threaten me.

Her: By the way, that you can expect to pay for robbing me of what is rightfully mine is not a threat, it's a fact of life - you will reap what you sow; others call it karma but you can call it what you like.

So 5 days in Amsterdam was pretty wild :red: Our hotel was smack bang in the middle of the red light district. Although we didn't really end up smoking that much, we'd probably get through more weed at home, ended up being more of a drinking holiday  We did pretty much nothing cultural due to being too hung over every day. Oops.

Somewhat belated cheers to your birfdae consumption! :huzzah:

So, I have a BBE Mind Bender sitting downstairs now. Way Huge Blue Hippo + Boss VB-2 clone. Analog chorus and vibrato, true bypass, built like a goddamn Panzer, etc. And it's a nice blue color with knurled knobs, because I like to say knurled. Chris will probably give me shit for buying a chorus pedal. :red: But it's more than capable of doing fucked-up sounds, and wobbly vibe-ness too.

Dude, at least it's not a flanger. There is no purpose for a flanger. :cop:

Oh, Mr. Hell, since you'd mentioned drop A tuning before, my Strat is currently down a whole step to D with the low string dropped to A. A normal powerchord shape on the low strings produces an octave. Initial observations are it's pretty cool for both deaf and doomulus sorts of metals. I could build a song or three around that tuning. Probably more useful in my world for single note riffs than chord work, but it is definitely a viable thing. Not something I'd use all the time, but I will add it to the arsenal of useful ideas. So thank you for that. Low string is hella floppy though, considering it's a 46 at the moment.

It's funny, outside of Garda rehearsals, I've been playing almost nothing but metal lately, and lots of it.

This is patently, a false statement.

Flanger was dropped onto this erf by aliens, for the restrained purpose of only very occasionally, making drums sound amazing. :cop:

I beg to differ. :red: For whatever reason, it makes me think of tacky sounding fills on early '90s Megadeth records.

Okay, I'll grant I was bullshitting slightly and it has its porpoise... On synthesizers. :hypno:

Chris from Garda likes it on guitars for some bizarre reason, essentially as a middle ground between chorus and phaser. I don't know what his deal is. :idk:

It occurs to me, as I sit here hammering out a long-ass paper about our buddy Gustav II Adolf Vasa and his reforms of the Swedish military during the Thirty Years War and their subsequent diffusion to his Habsburg opponents, we historians are in an interesting position. I'm sitting here basically writing dispassionately about shooting people and blowing shit up, and this is not only totally normal and socially respectable, but part of my job.

It's true. Chorus is quite spectacular while flange is atrocious.

I own a Dano 12-string as of yesterday, and that going into Alex and I's Earthquaker Devices Organizer is the most radical shit I have ever played through. Yet to try it with da Supa-Trem, but I imagine it will 80% of the way to the For Reverend Green guitar tone. :red: Will have to share clips soon.

Between that and my Tele in AADGBE, I think I have found the exact tools to achieve what I am trying to do.

Sounds like a different way of getting the essentially the same range. :huzzah:
