Probably be too busy playing Fallout 4 though.
My copy should be here tomorrow.
I knew i wouldn't be able to spend any time with it until the weekend, so i got the pre-order one from bethesda with the free shirt, knowing that it would get here just a tad later.
They based it locally, so i had no choice, though i do not generally do games on their new releases.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Have this in to repair for a friend of mine:
It was pretty well beat to shit(and held together with a bright orange ratchet strap) when it got here, but after cleaning a bunch of shit and replacing all of its fuses and rewiring its speakers, it kind of works.
It is a terrible sound(i don't know if it is 100% right inside at all, speakers in particular seem pretty sketch and maybe only sort of not totally blown) but i am actually really liking it. All solid state, holy shitpiles of low end(wayyyy more than it can even handle) and a wonderful sludge fuzz to it.
I don't know how long it will keep going, as it really sounds like it wants to just explode, and it kind of has that "hot electronics" smell to it, but it is pretty fun. If my friend doesn't like it(he got it in its busted state so has never heard it) i might see what he would want for it. It is uniquely awful.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
My ears are still ringing pretty hard.
I eventually wound up running the preamp out, into my normal tube amp for giggles and shits. This, does not however, cut off the signal to the power amp or the built in speakers of the Sunn. The end result is that both amps blast slightly different flavors of the fuzzy Sunn preamp. It is so very fucking loud and heavy sounding.
It utterly can not cope with fast or even medium speed playing, but that droney, slow, tuned-down-to-A thing, will just fill the house with delicious awful sludge from both amps going.
I hope my friend doesn't like it when i give it back to him, i must say.

Now please, put an HM-2 in front.
It kind of already sounds like it has one in a way. Maybe more like an FZ-2 though. Real nasty and saturated, low end is impressive, even through what seems to be not-great and at least partially blown speakers.
I really kind of love how they did solid state amps back in the day. They had fucking balls. And probably, with this much transformer(thing almost weighs as much as a small tube map, seems to run off ±45v @2A or something from the tranny, which is pretty solid for SS) probably didn't cost all that much less than their more tubey brethren to make.
Yo, my dawgs! Hope all is well. Seems like things have slowed down here and whatnot because everyone's life has been busy. Which is ya know, sick.
Something of an update: I work at a healthy-ass (sick) sandwich/salad and juice/smoothie joint and have been for about 8 months now. I honestly love it, I'm 20x better at making food and eat incredibly well 4-5 days out of the week. My boss is the fucking coolest lady I have ever met, fucking will made of iron and a heart made of gold. When I'm not doing that I am recording bands. I essentially don't have days off anymore. It's pretty sick. It also makes me want to kill everyone around me on a regular basis, but that is pretty normal I have begun to think. Alex and I are still living together and essentially functioning as a married couple. Pretty sick. She works at a dog daycare place. It's sick.
Anyhow! I hope y'allz are having a not incredibly depressing holiday season. Love you all <3

Yeah I know what you mean about that no days off scene. Work full time + three bands to record and rehearse, I don't really have much free time. This is a good thing, I think?

Good to hear Cam.
Yeah we are all busy and hate to say growing older so time gets hard to come by. I will continue the site until it is dead for good. Maybe never die....
Personal shit in my life has created enough turmoil for me for a few years. I still check in a lot even if I am not posting.
Also selling off guitars.... I guess I could post them here even though we don't have the traffic.

Hai guize, long time no speak Wrote my first new track in what feels like forever this week. I sold my p-bass to a friend so now I've come to recording it I'm really missing a proper bass. Pitch shifted guitar sounds so terrible now hopefully I'll be able to afford one of those shorter scale Jaguar basses in the new year when my friend pays up for the p-bass.
Been pretty busy recently so no time for internets might be moving into a new house in the new year as well so I've got the stress of that to look forward to.

I know, pitch shifted guitar as a bass sounds so fucking baaaad. You might as well just use sampled bass.
Moving into a house, as a younger person! An impossible dream around here.

Happy Krampus all. I hope that your Krampus festivities yesterday were all chucking kids into frozen rivers and the like.

I am still trying to terrify my kids with Krampus. It doesn't work.
My daughter is now old enough for panic attacks. FML. Up all night with that shit.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
Got round to finishing off my ghettocaster with the electronics pretty much built entirely from the spares box. It's a HSS guard so I just blocked it off with some gaffer tape haha. Considering the pickups came from my first ever electric (a jim harley strat copy which I'm still using the body from) they dont sound too bad. Bridge one doesn't actually work so I may put the Custom Custom back in when I can be bothered to take it apart again. Eventually I'll get a new loaded 'guard with some new pickups though. Was gonna get proper strat knobs but I actually like the silver top hat ones.

I like that, it is a good look for a strat, black on natural, big headstock.
I wish i could find a place that sold cheap enough versions of those gibson-style silver top knobs too. I have always liked those, but i want a huge pile of them for non-guitar use.

Re: Blog/tweet about shit in your life here
I just repaired a friend's JCM800 (a 80's 2210 with the diode clipping) and haven't been listening to anything but hair metal for the last couple days.
Now i want to finish my neon floyd guitar and build one of these(Skip to 7:30):
I haven't built anything in so long, it is probably just about time.
Dammit Chris. You're making me miss my Splawwwwn. If you did build one, wowzers. That'd be awesome.
I've been rocking my Laney at home a whole lot lately, playing... you guessed it... hair metal riffs! It's basically a 50 watt JCM800 after all. But it'd be nice to have the old Splawny back. Maybe someday I'll pick up one of the lower Watt ones.
