It looks quite good from afar mister Chris.

It looks okay from up close too. The finish actually leveled out more than i was hoping, so there aren't the big lifted "fighting paints" ridges that the earlier photo shows. Still shows the knots and cracks and whatnot, but i was hoping for a somewhat more dramatically ravaged surface than what it has settled into.

Really, aside from my homemade and very sketchy neck plate and string ferrules(which there is simply no helping, i should take a picture of their ultimate ghetto-ness), the only thing that looks legitimately "bad" to me, is the metal pickguard. VCR cases are just too much of a pain in the ass to work with. So really, a new pickguard is the only visual thing i intend to change. Oh, and maybe silver tuners. I am not the biggest fan of black ones in this application. They belong on the Charvette anyhoo...

Other than that, i am reasonably happy with the degree of sketchy that is is coming out as. I don't know if i would ever really be into a 100% shiny "correct" build, like most guitar DIYers aim for. I like it to look obviously like i made it myself, generally with some amount of violence. Someday i will try a shiny build though i think. I think maybe the Jazzmaster or the hollow tele i am thinking of building would be good candidates. Depends on how much money i have to spend on lacquer and finishing materials at that time though, i guess.

I had a set of the Blue Steels on my bass that were super fucking bright for a long time. Some may not dig it, but I thought they were awesome.

Bass tone with treble-y biteness as long is there is a fat bottom as well is good.

Lets see, aside from unwanted tuners, and the like, i can't think of anything. Really, i don't like accepting free stuff, so i try not to ask for anything.

I definitely am interested in those tuners though, as long as you wish to get rid of them, and as long as you don't think that you will use them for anything else.

I've actually been thinking of switching back to Blue Steels... Seeing as I'm not playing humbuckers through Mesas and Bogner Shivas and whatnot but rather Fenders through an AC30... my tastes have changed toward the brighter, so...

See, and I like giving stuff away. I 've had these tuners for years, I have no idea where I got them. I am not inclined to build. As a matter of fact I may ask to commission a guitar from you at some point.

Once i get the broken drill press working here, i would gladly build you whatever you'd like.

I'd think they'd be a good choice for bass, unless you're one of those Vintage P-Bass Never Ever Change Your Strings Ever Play Through An Old B15 Never Change Your Rustyass Strings Ever people.
