Another bit of swellness ^.

I don't know what i want to listen to. I think will spin this at the moment, but will probably just wind up putting everything on shuffle:

It fits in nicely between Big Black and Shellac in Mr. Albini's catalog, gotta say. It sounds like what it is, the in-between version. I have to say I'm probably actually most partial to Atomizer, of all things, when it comes to things he's played on. Don't know why. I find Big Black in general to be quite catchy, song-wise.

And that's a fine Peter Gabriel record you've got there...

Speaking of interesting "in between" bands related to Shellac and Jesus Lizard, have you heard Scratch Acid yet? Some of that stuff is neat.

I only know the name and that it's Mr. Yow and Mr. Sims's previous band. (And the drummer was in Rapeman as well.) But I don't have their albums. Where should I start with that one?

Great low end and roomy drum sound on this though. Immaculate mix.

Oh, and question for Chris 'cause he's likely to know about this sort of thing: since I've been on a noise rock kick lately, do you know of any good bands of that ilk that have a prominent synth/electronic element? Besides the obvious old industrial bands or stuff like Swans or Tomahawk that I already have kicking around...

For Scratch Acid, i would say just get The Greatest Gift, as it is pretty much an all-in-one.

For the second question, lemme think about it. I am sure i know of a couplefew.

Also, I am listening to the new Ratatat album LP4. It is rather good.

I was listening to Brothers by The Black Keys again, it is still very good.

I have been listening to Tame Impala's Innerspace in my car, and it blew out my passenger side speaker Good album though.

I should acquire this new Ratatat record you speak of.

Amazon did a one-day sale on it. I meant to post it here ... don't think I ever did though ...

Anyway it is good stuff. I feel like they have branched out pretty far on this one for new sounds. Obviously it still sounds like Ratatat, but you can definitely pick up some new influences on their style.
